I'm bored and my mind is racing on no particular topic, which sucks 'cause it's midnight and there's nobody to talk to! Somebody amuse me with some sort of controversial topic

I'm up too. I just posted some nasty/sad but proven true stuff about Romney on the Psychopathic thread. Will that do?

Nah, it has to be something I disagree with! And I totally agree that Romney is rubbish!

Ok, but - so sorry, then I got nothin'. How about a nice game of online chess? Or solitare? LOL Or you could come over and watch my roma tomatoes drying in the oven. I picked 50 pounds of them over the weekend and canned 30. The other 20 pounds need 24 hours in the oven at 140 degrees to become dried enough to store. Have a good rest of the evening! And have some Karma for being up so late . . . here ya go . . .

Oh, how I wish I had a greener thumb and the drive to plant a garden in the first place. I don't even like tomatoes much, but i'd love to have a supply of good, homemade sauce. Then again.. I haven't canned much because I don't really have space to put the cans.

I wish I had a "real" garden too! In my fantasies I grow abundant vegetables . In my reality I support a community garden that gives produce to the local foodbank. My backyard walls support some berry vines and my clay and ceramic pots grow cherry tomatoes and herbs, and occasionally I sneak in some other stuff (beans, cukes). But other than that, I'm a u-pick/family farm kinda gal. The tomatoes came from Ventura county. I ended up with 24 pints of tomatoes that should get us through to next year. I store them in the garage. You have no spare garage corner to stack jars?

I have to remove a church pew and a dollhouse before I'm allowed to put anything else in I have a dream to go intern at a commune my family has a connection with.. they teach a specific type of small acreage, low water farming that translates beautifully to suburban front yards. But i'd have to go away for 8 months or so... you work through the whole growing season.

Oh sigh . . . it would be heaven to spend a year getting re-acquainted with nature. Talk about a road not taken!

Indeed. I think it would be great for my girls too.. may have to try to spend a summer up there working on the farm and with the horses and in the kitchens. I've never known more industrious people. They used to have a dairy and make their own soap, but the population is aging and there are too few young people, most of which have jobs off the commune.

OK, for a minute there I thought people had lost focus and forgot about the controversy request. 1) Smoking is bad for you. 2) There is a God, Oh wait, wrong board... 3) We should drill in Alaska because we need the oil and all those pesky people are wrong about animals being affected by drilling. I have it from a source whose Dad was in the oil business that animals do live by drill sites therefore no animals obviously are being harmed. Discuss.

I am seriously considering driving an hour tomorrow (each way) to have Indian food... and i'm posting it here because its late, and it doesn't really belong anywhere... and someone mentioned butter chicken, curried veggies and saffron rice .... i'm not sure how to make it controversial...

Wind turbines kill more birds than oil drilling. An even bigger bird killer is tall buildings with reflective exteriors.

You can try. Say you are driving an hour each way because that Indian restaurant takes EBT cards(SNAP) and the local ones don't.

I just wish my version of late night meshed with a few more people.
And now I would kill for a plate of curry.
