What is the most useless appendage, person, organ, habit, place, circumstance, or other factor in your life ? What would you like to get rid of, change, etc. ? What's stopping you from doing it ?

Clutter. But I have it beaten into one small area of my world.
I will defeat it.

My Ex husband - waiting on the day our son turns 18 so I don't have to deal with him any more!!!
(Yes, I know there will be birthdays, graduation, wedding, grandchildren, etc - doesn't mean I have to deal with him directly - just our son and what his wishes are. I will suck it up and play nice - but only to a certain point.)

I know it is politically incorrect to admit, but I am pretty happy to no longer be married. We had a very long road and were "done" being married to each other many years ago.
Now the challenge is to change the internal dialogue from "I hate my life" to "I can do whatever I want with my life." It's a process.

"I can do whatever I want with my life." Finally there is no longer a 'permanent record'.

Hard to say. I'd say right now my life suffers from a lack of meaningful things rather than un meaningful things.

I want to get rid of my early-morning commute and the office rat-race. I've considered quitting work early, but if I did, we wouldn't meet certain financial goals we've set. I don't think it's fair for me to conk out early, especialy when DH is working very hard to keep the home fires burning.

My total lack of time management recently. I used to WORK damn it and I got everything done. Now I am a freaking SAHM and my house looks like a tornado went through and I have been gone most of the day to an IEP meeting. Tomorrow I have to take kids to physicals, take my dog to the vet, drop 1 kid off at college class, pick her up (she can't drive in Italy).
Having said that...my break is over. Back to laundry. I think I will try to sweep the floors before I have to run to pick up kids from school.

In the last 5 years I've tossed aside a couple "friends" who really just turned out to be leeches. The side effect is now I'm more cautious when a new potential friend comes along.

This is a good question that I'm still thinking about. Clutter is always a work in progress.
I've identified a lot of my co-dependent and enabling habits and have try hard not to fall into those again.
I'm trying to break out of the inertia that I'm in right now of the status quo. I need to make some big changes, but am not entirely sure where to start. Maybe I'll see about talking to my manager today about getting that started.

I had a dog I never really loved. And I have a cat that I have pretty much only tolerated. We had a couple of decent years - but for the most part, he has annoyed me his whole life. Just an expense I don't need.
I have owned 3 other cats whom I love - so it isn't a pet thing - it was these particular pets that were not well thought out. We were just taking in strays with no real thought to personality or match.

Yes - but at least that gets into the litter box. The pee and the barf are all over. Stupid cat. Why can't you just die quickly?

It may not be the most useless - but I've gone to dinner once a month with the same small group of women for at least 20 years. I'd like to stop going, but I don't know how to do that without hurting their feelings.

That's a little extreme. I have, however considered moving out of state. LOL.

I would sadly have to say Middle Brother. He and wifey (now ex) had a LOT of alcohol, drug and depression issues - to the point that I took on and finished raising his two kids when she went into the hospital long-term and he hit the streets and became homeless. They separated, divorced and each finally got stable on SSI, HUD housing, medicaid etc, but he STILL hits me up for money.
And I STILL say no. :-(

Does allergies count? They are the most useless and problem areas of my life and DH's too. If not, then it must be me because I can't think of anything else. I'm useless. Yay! Nobody will expect anything from me ever again! ;D

Toe nails
I know a good pedi is cute
But too much trouble keeping them clipped and avoiding fungus, Nobody sees them 90% of the time. And what are they good for anyway?
