ful For?
I'd like to get a conversational thread going on this board. Maybe something that will be ongoing for a while. So I'll try to be brave and start the list.
Every day I pray for: 1. The world 2.Souls in Purgatory ( I think God found a way for some of us imperfect souls to make it to heaven in a safe place that assists us in the last stages of growth) 3. My list of people whom I love, or who I need to learn to love. (Well, at least see what the Creator sees in them! ;D)
I'm thankful for the hardships we have endured as a family (nobody knows the troubles we've seen la la la, ;D) that have brought us to this day.
I'm thankful for my family and friends.
I'm thankful that the economic hardships the country has seen have not touched me or my children.
What blessings come to mind in your life? What are you thankful for today?

It may not have been what you had in mind, but what I pray for most consistently is forgiveness. I always fall short in some way or another.
A priest once told me that there are 4 types of prayers (I'm sure others divide it differently). His 4 types were: forgiveness, petition, gratitude and praise. My goal is to include some of each 4 every time I pray.

When I pray, I try to send up gratitude for everything I've been given. Then I pray for anyone who has asked for prayers or who needs support. Then I ask for the courage to live my life.

WAFFLE: I forgot about the 4 types of prayer. Thank you for reminding me. As I'm telling myself I don't ask for forgiveness, I'm reminded the first prayer I say each morning is from a Helen Steiner Rice card I received about 35 years ago.
You are ushering in another day, untouched and freshly new. And here I come to ask you Lord if you'd renew me too. Forgive the many errors I made yesterday, And help me to walk closer in Thy way. And take my hand and hold it tight for I can't walk alone.
Thank you again for the reminder to use all 4 types each day. You made my day! ;D

I pray for strength to face a new day. And, I'm thankful for the basics in life (a loving family, a roof over my head, a warm & bug-free bed, food in the fridge & pantry). Even something like a beautiful sunset is something to be thankful for, and to acknowledge. And yes, forgiveness, and the ability to forgive others (especially the ones who act like they don't need or want forgiveness). And, I ask for wisdom in the many decisions I may need to make for my family, Mom, etc. And I pray specific prayers for those who are having problems (health, jobs, etc.) Great thread, ldutt!

I use the Serenity Prayer a fair amount, say Thanks a lot, and send prayers for folks I think can benefit from it.

A friend recently started a weekly prayer group to pray for our Youth. We meet one morning a week in the Church, then stay for the Rosary and Mass. She put together a packet of prayers to ask God to protect and guide the Youths in our Church, Community and the World. Due to the early hour we meet, there has only been a few of us, but another group might start an evening one to accommodate other schedules. It gives me a nice feeling of peace after we pray for your Youth, since they are the future.

One thing I pray for daily is a shield of protection around my family members. That shield held last night as my GrS was in an icy road roll over at 12:30 a.m. with seat belts on and no one hurt. Thanks be to God. Amen

I pray daily thanks for the blessings I've received- top of the list my family, my wife, my kids; for health, for relative happiness, and that all of my needs are met (even if I feel there are unfulfilled needs- I agree with God that He has provided all that I need).
I pray the Word a lot- I pray Psalm 91 over myself and my family almost daily. Whether you know it or not, you are familiar with Psalm 91- it's the reason you call 911.
I pray Job 5:12 for my personal life, my family, and our nation.
I pray Psalm 122:6 pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that love thee.
I pray God's will be done.

Health of my kids, my husband and my parents. Blessings for our house. Success for my husband at his job. In my religion, praise and thanks are already included in the text of the prayers, so I just add my personal stuff ETA: I also pray for A LOT of patience to deal with above-mentioned kids.

I pray for the return of Jesus. It's been said to be careful what you ask for. How do you think Christ will return? (It may not even be in our lifetime.) Here's my take on it: I have come to the conclusion that the Book of Revelations consists mainly of spiritual things. That these things will happen, but in the spiritual realm. I am of the opinion that things are happening now, only we don't see them in a physical sense. I think that, just like when people were expecting the 'King' to be born, our perceptions are of a physical happening, not spiritual. People were very surprised that Jesus was a poor boy, not their idea of what a king should be. Jesus may return through prayers we pray for one another. That each time we pray for the world another person sees the spiritual truth. Once the balance of good and evil becomes in favor of good, things will begin to get better for the world. For the Catholics here, did you know Mary is the patron saint of this country? The mother of all of us - who favors family above all else - is our patron saint. Is it a wonder that families are being torn apart? There is a spiritual realm. You can call it what you'd like, but whether a person believes or not, the truth can't be changed because we want it to be. What do you think?

Every morning as I walk out the door, I ask God The Father to bless and protect the people in my heart and in my home.
From there on the prayer changes daily.

Beyond the typical things people have listed so far, I also pray for God / Jesus to help me both learn what I told them I would work on and do what I told them I would do. I think we all come here with a purpose and "agreed" with God beforehand as to what we would do / learn during our time here.
