Mark Haines has passed away at the age of 65.
CNBC wil never be the same for me. His sense of humor always struck me closely to mine. The old club of Squawk Box of ten years ago was my favorite business show.
Heck, I even miss the old Squawk Box message board from years ago, at the old original MSN message boards.

I think Mark's most shining moment was on 9-11 He was on the air, and held the hand of the audience throughout that horrendous day, with brilliance.

I noticed he wasn't on the air this morning and then around 9:30 they announced his death on the air. Him and Burnett were a good pair for the 9 o'clock hour. I'll miss his wit and even the off topic nonsense he frequently partook of.

A big loss for CNBC. He will be missed. So sad to go at such a young age.

I respected Haines because in an interview he would give his guests opportunity to answer the who, what, when, where, and how questions journalists should ask. He would press guests who did not answer the question but was respectful to them when they were stating an opinion even if it was different than his own. It's too bad more journalists don't follow this style.

I always thought he spoke, and somewhat looked out for the individual stock invester, and tried to protect them against double speak, and outright lies. I will miss him.
