i use both schwab and tradestation.... i have to use tradestation, because the auto execute program that i'm trading will only run on tradestation.... my wife (now that she's retired) helps each morning setting up the trades for the day. about 75% of our money is in 5 different accounts at schwab..... the remaining amount is in our trading account at tradestation... well i'm mad at schwab, lately each time i try to short a stock in one of the schwab accounts, schwab refuses to take the order and says the shares aren't available...... screw schwab they just don't want to mess the extra work of shorting a stock.... thanks to tradestation they gladly take my short orders no problem... screw schwab.... i'll be moving more trades and money tradestations way.... wifey deserves partial credit for making the coinstar trade, i'm lucky to have her....

I think it is so cool that you and your wife work together on trades. Mine just wants the money. LOL.

Maj Easy, Yes, I had the same problem with Schwab in 1999. They also like to have T-Bond to back up the trade.....
What mix are you using. We used 50/50/30 short vs T-bonds....It must have been that million share Tower Jaz Short they could not come up with....I never had that problem with Lehman Brothers..
Best of luck... Hook-Um, Bruce

i called schwab and they never told me about needing a T-Bond to back up the trade.... i would have gladly met their requirements had i known.... funny that you recall 1999, because i'm still mad at schwab from the time they refused my short in 2000 on Red Hat (RHT) (Linux operating system) i wanted to short RHT at about 100 per share, later it fell to 6 bucks per share.... now that would have been a home run..... discount brokers give you what you pay for, poor quality service, for a low price trade, i blame myself for using schwab.....

While I was still working, Crabby and I worked together on trades. Now, she just keeps the spread sheet. Most of her involvement now is telling me how much more money she needs. Actually, it is good when she takes an interest. She has a tendency to notice different stocks then I would consider.

I use TD Ameritrade and have had a few minor problems but nothing serious. One cool feature is I have a person to contact if I have a problem. She is there whenever the market is open, answers the phone herself, greets me by name when she answers, and remedies my problems within minutes.
