While on the subject of Scott TP, if you remember a few weeks back, I got 13 packages (12 packs) at Price Chopper during a Kimberly Clark Catalina deal. They worked out to somewhere around $2-3 a 12 pack after coupons and cat. I am well stocked so wouldn't even do the deal at cvs to burn EB's. This of you that don't like the "regular" Scott, might want to give it another try. I think it's different. It's still single ply but feels thicker to me, and those packs had 1257 sf per 12 pack, double what the extra soft has. (I did get a couple 12 packs of the extra soft cuz that's what I initially had coupons for.)

Dancinmama:Have you used Scott before? I have some of the single rolls when they were on sale at RA awhile back. It is single ply and very thin. I don't know if the extra soft is any better. Have any of you tried that one? It's okay in an emergency, I guess, but I didn't think I would purchase it again--unless it was free, of course. I actually prefer the regular Scott brand. We have a septic system so we had to use it but I really wouldn't care even if we didn't. the extra soft is about as thick as the cottonelle just not a "fluffy". If that makes any sense. I actually like it. Not having to use more TP each time is fine with me. I just hate how "cotton ballish" the cottonelle is. I'm like you beachbum. I prefer the regular Scott too. It lasts so much longer. Right now we are using the extra soft and it is disappearing way faster than the regular kind.

I goofed on Thur. I did not stop at/shop at Aldi. Today our food stamp cards are loaded for ½ the recipients since the 15th is a Sat. that means Aldi will be a ZOO for the next 5/more days.
Only item I want/need at my Dad’s local stores is whole chicken. They are cheaper than Aldi this week so 2 more for the freezer.
Our Albertson’s here is running a special pricing sale every day for 2 weeks starting Mon. I emailed corp since I consider that a PITA, time waster and gas waster. I further added that it is discriminatory since the Jewish High Holy Days are 3 of the 10 days. Basically got an answer back that was: so sorry, too bad.
Heck w/them. I can just as easily (and WILL) spend my $$ elsewhere.

Deal alert. If you need Helmans Mayo tomorrow Acme (Albertson's cheaper cousin) has it on sale for $1.88 a jar. That is the best price I have seen in a long time.
There is a listing for a coupon in the "Unilever making life better booklet" The coupon is for $0.75/1 30 oz bottle which it is. I don't have that booklet, but most Acme's double, so it would make for a screaming deal at $0.38 cents a jar if you did!
I hope that helps someone!
Holly, Acme does those deals, like above, all the time that are just 1 day or a different one each day. It is annoying but I normally just ignore it unless it is a screaming deal. And I actually can pass an Acme a few time a week if I want to. ;D

Safeway does the same thing here sometimes. From a business standpoint, they're hoping you'll go in each day because you will most likely buy more than the one item. That's what most people do. Who hasn't gone in a grocery store for one item and ended up with more. I personally don't do that anymore and I don't make a special trip each day to get their great price on a single item each day. However, if I'm in the vicinity and it's something we will use, and I have a q for it, then a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do! I like to beat them at their own game!

Hi Ladies! Long time, no see! I've been busy and haven't bought much of anything. It's so bad that I let an ECB expire (thankfully only $1) and that CVS sent me an e-mail asking where I've been! They said I'd been gone so long that they wanted me to come back and gave me a $2 coupon to use on candy or a drink. Well, thanks, CVS! I think I will! I bought a Cadbury dark chocolate (the big one) and paid the extra 19 cents or whatever it was. While I was there, I remembered I had a rain check for tuna and I remembered that we are out of tuna. So, as they wanted me to do when they sent me the coupon, I bought something else. I bought 16 cans of tuna but with the rain check they were only 59 cents each. Not bad.
Sprouts is having a BOGO sale lately on lots of items. Thankfully they took 2 coupons on a BOGO, which I'm sure someone in their store told me at some time that they would not. After sale and coupons I got:
Annie Chun dried seaweed snacks for 30 cents Garden of Eatin organic tortilla chips for $1 Arrowhead Mills organic puffed rice cereal bags for 50 cents Cascadian Farms organic cereal for $1.75

So new policies:
RA puts the UP rewards on your card unless you call and opt out? Anyone have a phone number?
I just saw that Walgreens has a new store card. What's that about? And there's a thing where you can add the miles you walked and get points for that? I walk a lot. I couldn't find any details about that on their site.
Dollar Tree is taking coupons? That would be awesome. I have one of those!
See what I miss in a few weeks???

Oh, and what is this TMF rebate that Dancin used at Safeway? They'll give you back $25 for (what seem like) unrelated groceries?

I went in to CVS today to do the Gillette Buy $30/Get $10EB on another card and to cash in a rain check for Purex. $11.99 (1) Mach 3 ....8.29 (1) Custom 3 ....9.99 (1) Venus (on rain check) ..11.28 (6) Purex @ $1.88 ea. ....2.31 Sales Tax $43.86 Subtotal -..2.99 20% off coupon -11.99 (1) Buy Disposable/Get Mach 3 free -..3.00 (1) $3/1 Custom 3 -..4.00 (1) $4/1 Venus -..6.00 (6) $1/1 Purex (IPs) -13.00 EBs $..2.88 OOP (mostly sales tax on GC) --> $10EB for Gillette / $4 EB for Venus Paid sales tax, spent $13EBs and got $14EBs back. I was only supposed to have to spend $12EBs, but they were out of the cheap Venus disposables. I scanned my cards for (2) more $5/1 Centrum Flavor Burst. AND, AND, AND the shelf clearers bought all the Progresso soup so yesterday I was able to get a rain check for (12) and today I got two more rain checks for (12) each @$.97/can. Now, I'll tuck them away and wait for at least a $.50/1 coupon (or better) to come out and hopefully pay the balance with EBs to get some free soup.

What's a decent price for ground beef these days? I don't see anything below $2.99/lb.

Unless they change things so that the UPs that print can be used immediately, it will take a hell of a deal to get me back in there. It's just far enough away that driving back and forth is a deal breaker. As far as WAGs is concerned....I still do the very best deals; the problem is that they rarely have any these days. CVS is still #1, but the deals there too are not nearly as abundant as in days past. Quite frankly, I thought that these days would come a lot sooner than they have. I continue to add to my stockpiles, but since it's always been about low or no OOP for me, I'm definitely not doing as much shopping as I used to.

Wow, I'm a little bit worried about frugalsuz. I just went to check her blog to make sure that I wasn't missing anything spectacular at any of the drug chains for next week's ads and she hasn't posted anything since last Sunday (9/9). Usually she has the deals up for the following Sunday by Wednesday. frugalsuz: I hope all is okay.

Thanks saveinla for the rebate form! Got it today So on to my adventure of trying homemade stuff (seriously thinking about starting a blog about trying all this crap lol) Made my own shampoo, pretty simple, took 2mins with an initial investment of $13. Each batch costs me about $1.60 a batch and will last about 3 weeks or so OMG totally un-grocery related but definitely bargain related...so I have been eyeing this skirt from Ann Taylor, to the tune of $70, but its soo pretty!! But after shipping and taxes it was like $85 and I just couldn't do it. So I decided to go on eBay and see if they had any and low and behold, 1 person was selling the skirt I have been wanting for the last month, on my size, for $50, free shipping, no tax the only one!! yay so I saved myself $35 and still got the skirt I have been dying to get!

Need to check my CVS & WAG lists for things I still want/need this week. Have a coupon for my local liquor place (15% off) and am nearly out of my fav wine. Have a $5 off coupon for cat food at Petsmart. Need some stuff at Aldi.
Guess what I am doing today.

Stopped in Target yesterday afternoon to look around. Found a couple decent deals: Sterlite "milk crate" type storage baskets were clearanced to 1.48! They had a huge wall full of them near the back to school stuff. They are a great size for stockpile stuff! I bought 5 (that was all that fit in my cart) but almost wish I'd gotten more! Also found a great k-cup deal but it probably ends today, and you'd need the blinkie Q which I found at Price Chopper. A bunch of varieties were 10.99 with a $5 gift card wyb 2 and I had a $3/2 blinkie. 10.45x10.45 (5% red card discount) = 20.90- $3/2= 17.90 minus gift card back is 6.45 a pack which is a very good price for the 18 packs.

I'm just curious why you'd do this when shampoo is often free. After hearing how much childhood cancer is on the rise, I started to get a little nervous plus my sons have eczema. I look at the ingredients on the labels and it sounds like a chemistry lab. Also, almost all the industrial shampoos strip your hair and leave it dry. I guess I am just trying this new way of doing my life. It doesn't take much effort and its pretty inexpensive and I know what is going into it and I can pronounce it too lol

Catalinas and coupons allowed me to have a great week hounding. Weeks like this do not come around too often, so I took advantage of the best deals at Meijer, Kroger, Rite Aid, CVS and Walmart (price matching).
Produce:1 green onion bunch, 1 red onion, 1 pack mushrooms, 2 bunches bananas, 1 head lettuce, 5 peppers, 1 coleslaw mix, 1 lemon, 1 lime, 1 celery, 1 broccoli, 1 head garlic, and 3 lbs. carrots
Grocery: 2 breads, 1 pk. tortillas, 1 stir fry seasoning, 1 salsa mix, 1 Lawry's, 2 McCormick pepper,2 pks. Oreos, 1 Wesson oil, 10 cans tuna, 8 bags candy corn, 1 bag of coffee, 6 burritos, 1 can refrigerated biscuits, small bag of chocolate, 8 Diet Pepsi 12 packs
Dairy: 1 lb. butter, 1 dozen eggs, 1 sour cream, 1/2 gallon milk and 10 pks. Kraft cheese slices
H & B: 2 Windex, 1 Tide, 2 Era, 2 Glad garbage bags 21 ct. each, 2 pks. napkins 250 each, 2 Lysol Liquid cleaners, 1 Gillette razor, 2 Mach 3 razors, 1 Venus razor, 10 Schick Hydro razors, 8 incense, 16 Glade warmers and 1 travel size shampoo

beachbum, I got your envie today. Thank you! Had some good luck at sam's club today. I managed to ruin a pillowcase in the wash this summer, and since the sheets belong to someone else I needed to replace it with the same brand. I found out they are the sam's club brand, and I couldn't find them online anywhere. When I went to the store, I couldn't find the exact same item (probably discontinued) but I picked up a set of twin sheets in the same line. I figured it would be good to have some sheets for the air mattress I'll be using next month, and I can leave out the pillowcase to replace the ruined one. I was prepared to pay the 10% surcharge since I don't have a membership, but when I got to the register the cashier got a manager to enter some kind of guest access number and they didn't charge me the extra fee Still more than I would have liked to pay for a set of sheets, but they are pretty nice and I was happy to get in and out quickly. The place was kind of a zoo today.

I have the $5 mPerks credit on any order >$5 from Meijer. Now I have to decide when & how to use it: current ad on Mon or new ad on Thur. Considering how little I have on my list this week and the known issues w/the raspberries I am thinking on Thur. WRONG!! Just checked the ad preview and really want/need NOTHING. Reviewed both ads and will have trouble spending that $5 w/o the raspberries.
