If they get pulled over for speeding, who gets the ticket? ...the one who controls the right foot...

How do you politely wonder if the nerves required to enjoy procreating go to both brains or just the one? <<hoping she just did>> Well they only have one set of everthing down there so I'm not sure it makes a difference really. It is not like one can just ignore it. This really is more than I want to think about. I can't say what I want without getting in trouble I'm pretty sure so I'll just drop it. lol

They also had two almost completely separate bodies. They were only attached by a small patch of skin at the side. These girls are essentially sharing one body. No way for one of them to do much without the other being directly involved, let alone the fact that they only have one uterus etc. their livers were joinedNot exaclty an organ that gets a lot of attention on a wedding night.

Even though Chang and Eng weren't as attached, it still had to be mighty awkward in the bedroom, but I hear some people are into that sort of thing...

I agree that it must have been awkward but not even close to sharing a hoo haa. Al thought I'm sure there are people who would find that (insert word of your choice here).

I don't think that is a toughie. They have managed everything from toileting, sleeping, eating, showering and on and on. They will manage that part of their lives too.

I think all of that stuff is just going to be natural for them because they know no other reality.

the bigger question is are they considered each other's dependent by the IRS? If the school ends up paying them for 1 person, the other would be "unemployed", correct? I can't imagine the teaching contracts being flexible enough to pay 2 people for half, so they will end up getting 1 paid and the other not. Does that put the other as a dependent?

What if one dies? Do they chop the head off? Would that be called deadheading? Too much?

If one dies, the other is most likely in grave danger of dying. If they share organs , then one dying will probably mean imminent death of the other.

I don't know their anatomical issues, but it is quite possible that can't be separated anyway. If they share one heart for instance or other vital organs, it just might not be something that can be done.

The link someone posted said they have 2 hearts, 4 lungs and 2 stomachs and from then down they have just 1 bodies worth of everything, so 1 lg, 1 sm intestines, 1 uterus, 2 ovaries etc. I agree that with them separation would have left them incredibly handicapped if they even lived. I can't imagine having to separate twins that essentially means leaving them each with essentially half a body. I can see how one of them getting married seems normal to them because that is the only way they have ever lived. My question is for the man marrying her. How do you marry one and not marry the other? Even skipping the physical stuff they can never be alone even for a minute.

I'm thinking there have been some sincerely very interesting discussions between the three of them about this. I wonder if they are saying only "one" is engaged to deflect any plural marriage issues, but that, maybe, in reality, he is knowingly and willingly marrying both. I think they can be individuals only so far, strictly from a practical point of view.

I would think you pay them 1 salary, and that you only hire one of them. If I get hired for a job and decide that I'm bringing my friend with me every day, they don't get paid just because I bring someone else (yes i realize they don't have a choice, I'm just saying bringing someone along in a professional environment is not the same as a kid tagging along to help mow the lawn). They probably cannot do the work of 2 teachers, I can't imagine them both talking at the same time to give students more face time. I also can't imagine they can do a proficient job of checking papers while the other teaches...it's got to be hard to check papers one-handed and the person teaching would have to be sitting still the entire time as they each control one leg.
I can't imagine many scenarios where they get paid 2 full salaries, or even more than 1 salary. They're unlikely to be doing more work than 1 single person in that job.
