I started on out the Your Money thread, but came to P&M during one of the elections. I'm interested in where some of the other posters started out.

WIRR, and have only found my way to P&M since this new board. I sort by "new topics" so they all filter out together.

A few years back on P&M. My first post was an inquiry into the ownership of the FED. LOL

I started on Squawk Box just after 9/11 and about a year later moved to the P&M Message Board & had absolutely no interest in Politics but was a Day Trader so had some knowledge of the Markets. I at first was led to believe the P&M Message Board Moderator had been in congress for 22 years and was a Nam veteran but began to question his authenticity which made for some interesting discussions to say the least.
About all we did on Squawk box was talk about hot Maria Bartiromo was and what an obnoxious buffoon Joe Kernan was.....and nothing has changed in 9 years..

It was only active for a few years here...and when the P&M Board came on the scene in 2002 most of the Squawkbox members moved to that board. And Squawkbox was cancelled in 2003..I think??

And now some of you are coming over to this board...kind of crazy how people transition on the internet over time.

Long time ago on the old MSN Politics board. When they shut that one down some of us "moved" across the pond to the UK Politics board.

I started on P&M and was assigned to Market Talk as a Moderator. A day that will live in infamy for the MSN Money Board Community but hopefully we will recover and move on from that horrific experience

I'm dating myself here, but I started out before there was the Internet, on some old school BBSes. Eventually joined multiple forums like Creditboards, MSN P&M and MT, etc.

I started on the MSN games board site, played lots of BG then discovered they had a forum, lots of people, lots of banning, lots of fighting but real fun, lots of interaction, then it turned into who knows what and now not much..still banned..and no interest i getting a new Nic, can't rmember how many I had, they were banning everyone who might just suggeste if they passed wind but found my way to EE, people followed but Sam would have none of it so think Scottish Lassie and I are only ones left here, she there, EE, and I here, and occasionally go back to EE to see what's up.

I started on the MSN U.S News Board. That one was shut down, so I went over to the UK News board. Krickitt invited me over to the P&M board and that is how I ended up there. Hi All! Merry Christmas!

So 2 weeks ago I was on MSN UK General Discussion, 10 days on Money and Politics, now orphaned here. Seems like a great system if I understood how to get pictures on here, quotes etc.....MSNBC was great accidental discovery back in 2007- my first chat or whatever, ever- quite a society'... Number 6, the Flying Horse, Mother Funk, Texas Zinger, Welts, etc, etc....I was amazed...

Yes, I was there, but a lot quieter back then. Of course it was more about Maria Bartiroma and the Dow back then, rather than politics.

We had some good discussion about 9/11 and entering the military. And us old vets let them know what to expect...but there was a lot of bashing Joe Kernan, & Jim Cramer.

RDT, I might be wrong, but I think Squawk Box might have been removed by 9/11.
Even if it wasn't, we were already over at P&M. I am sure we were, because we had all the conspiracy theorists from the Left talking about hanging chads, and the evil Supreme Court who "stole" the election from Al Gore...... Those were the golden days of message boards. It was better than Fox News and MSNBC combined.

Btw did you know that Joe Kernan actually said on CNBC that he read some of the negative comments about him on that board?? True story And Joe Kernan was really hurt with all the hurtful things said about him on the Squawk Box Message Board that inspired everyone to get even meaner and nastier..

I lived in a van down by the river, the Seine in 1977. (smiley face). The municipal showers- very old, marble, nice, and individual, were $.20, now are FREE!

For what it's worth though, I did like that skit on SNL...especially the part about "living in a van down by the river." That's actually something I have said to a couple wayward airmen while trying to get them to understand that cleaning up their act would be in their best interest. Anyway...by popular demand and without further ado...I bring you my new avatar! It is OK but let me think about it before giving you an unbiased opinion late next week...the avatar has to give us an idea what you are all about. I liked my avatar because it reminded me of wadding in rivers so we would not leave footprints. And I did actually step on something and thought I heard that dreaded clicking sound that scared the shit out of me... it turned out to be a discarded beer can..

I believe the board pretty much died off after the start of P&M. MSN pretty much changed the boards (called in an improvement) and cancelled most of the CNBC boards.
