But i wasn't discussing all brackets. We aren't told that middle and lower income tax cuts create jobs. We are told that higher income tax cuts create jobs. And we've been told recently that not extending those tax cuts at the UPPER levels (the others would have stayed the same) was bad because it would lead to less job creation... but the fact of the matter is that the cuts at the upper levels for the past decade DID NOT lead to greater job creation... Net private sector job creation under Bush was ZERO!

Net private sector job creation under Bush was ZERO! Why worry so much about what others want to tell you? Besides who is to say that more private sector jobs would have been lost without the tax cuts? And why do you wish to take more money from some citizens at the end of a gun?

There's nothing radical about your viewpoint on taxes, you're part of the majority. Only the radical liberals think taxing success is a workable strategy. Of course, eventually, they will run out of other people's money, as we are seeing now...

Getting back to Sarah. Sarah doesn't handle pressure well. Even conservative reporters and journalists have reduced her to responding with bitter emotion and scatterbrained replies. It appears as though she fails to anticipate the questions that will be posed, and does not do her homework. If she can't handle this type of stress, is unable to anticipate the expected, and reacts from personal level, is she capable of dealing with the pressure and stress of the presidency?

If elected president, could Sarah Palin beat her own record and stay in office longer than 966 days?

Yeah, i was actually surprised that Greta actually seemed to push her a little the other day... asking her what HER ideas were for job creation/etc. Usually Greta doesn't push her much... of course Palin couldn't say anything about her own ideas... just that O was wrong and the Rs were right....

So Oped should we assume you have nothing useful to add to the conversation about the tax cuts limiting job losses?

Are you asking me to prove a negative? No, but putting some thoughts to the screen could be useful.

It's easy to understand, given these conflicting positions: We need to reduce the deficit; and we need to 'invest' more spending in education, R&D, and infrastructure; and I'm not going to cut discretionary spending, I only want to freeze it, and only for a short time. "What The Fuck?" is a completely appropriate response to hearing one fool say these conflicting things within a few minutes. So, what's your problem? You deny Palin her free speech to call it like it is? Or to maybe use double entendres? Who's taking away away her "free speech" ? Fox interviewed her, pretty big audience, this reporter interviewed her , made the media. Your objecting to possible some criticism of her remarks, what ever she did say? Her comments are not on the level of the Sermon on the Mount or Moses bringing G-d's commandments down from Mt Sinai in my opinion. She feels stopping govt payments to NPR is going to solve our budget crisis?. granted only one solution she suggested but it's so small, NPR Govt contribution, a insult to suggest as a solution to americas financial problems to even mention. It ranks up there with her suggestion of her foreign policy experience, she can see Russia from Alaska as a qualification. As long as NPR was mentioned, it's problem one of the few things the government spends a few bucks on that I support. Love my NPR, "All things considered"...soooo good.

If she can't handle this type of stress, is unable to anticipate the expected, and reacts from personal level, is she capable of dealing with the pressure and stress of the presidency? The sorry thing is in my opinion , and not really a attack on Sara, she was just offered the position, was that McCaine even thought of her as a running mate. Understanding it from a political standpoint, but so little thought given as to what the job really entails , the responsibilities of the office, the potential repercussions by having some one with her credentials in that position. That these decisions are made strictly with political considerations being the reason they are done is scary as hell to me , no matter what political who is doing that, left /right... I admit that the same can be said about Obama as far as experience is considered..same with Kennedy, Truman, Bush # 2 and others who have held that post ..in a way..in most cases we may have been lucky that so many have turned out so well as POTUS. Grant you there is almost allways a sizable amount of the populace who at he time they leave the office are not in favor of them..see Truman, Bush, Nixon, Carter..yet in many cases that changes in the years after they have left office..see Truman, Carter{his post presidency}. Clinton, even Nixon for many of his accomplishments...

I just wondered why Lakhota can continue to post inane thread after inane thread but somehow my opinions get called into question. So, I have to ask, WTF?[/qu I guess if one does not like the thread they can just move on. IMO seems that would be my answer.

krickett, I'm curious. What is it that makes SP "real" to you? What is is that makes you like her? And if you like her, why wouldn't you vote for her?

I'm sure the recession he inherited and 9/11 had nothing to do with that at all.
The tax cuts made that recession very brief and much less painless than it otherwise would have been for people. If he were only allowed to rein in the "financially sound" FRE / FNM in 2003-05, a lot of this could have been avoided.
Deficit spending wasn't nearly as bad until the Congress of the end of 2006 came into power and trillion dollar deficits became the norm under Pelosi. Congress is the branch of government that generally controls spending - except when there is a super majority and they can collude to shove anything down our throats they want. Until the 2006 Congress was in power, the deficit was pretty much interest on pre-existing debt and that's it.[/size]
