I do inquire: how does someone who are banned can be troling and messing up with us? If they had been banned - they cant sign up because of email and IP address right?' So how are they 'complaining' to the PB? Doesn't PB recognize them as 'offenders'? and should nevermind them?

Looney? I think that if you are banned - you are only banned from posting. You can still read. I believe Moonbeam has it set up this way (according to what she said the other night) in order for prospective members to be able to see what they may be registering for. It is difficult to attract new members if they can't see and read the board first. To be able to ban someone from reading also, she would have to shut the board down to everyone who hasn't logged in.
I think people get upset for one reason or another and decide that if they can't post here, they don't want anybody to post here. Or they would like members to go elsewhere to post. Maybe they think they got in trouble for something and see sombody else doing the same thing so they get upset. Who knows? So they contact the Proboards administrators and tell them somebody is doing something wrong here that is against the PB Code of Conduct - which Moon explained takes precedence over the Code of Conduct here. With enough complaints, PB admins could shut down this board. Moon is trying to prevent that from happening.
As far as "neverminding" them, I agree. I would think the complaints would be taken with a grain of salt, but knowing how many boards are up and running and how many members and ex-members there are, they probably do not have the time to research each poster to determine their status as a troublemaker. I would imagine it's easier for PB to shoot off an e-mail to Moon saying they have received some complaints and to "clean it up".
I'd sure hate to lose this place. It's a very nice place to come.
Its difficult to know sometimes what is over the top and what isn't. All we can do is try to behave and, when warned, accept it graciously and go on. Oh...and try not to do it again!

Apparently, some banned folks with big egos and tiny little minds find it fun to spend their time making trouble. Whatever. Takes a mighted effed-up, soulless person to takes things that far, but whatever. I would love to see the mods and Proboards give them the virtual steel-toed boot up their nether regions, but it does not always work that way.
Most of us understand that the mods do what they have to do to keep the place tidy. Might not be what we agree WITH, but we agreed TO it when we joined.

Don't you have kids and horses to boss around? And for GYL and Nancy...thanks. GYL's post is an honestly an eye opener! I come and post mostly always in a hurry. So I do not really think about it. I had no idea about all this 'politics' and crazy 'exes'...however I second that I want to have this place going on. Another question: what if mods will get fed up and want to have this place gone? Do members have any say in it? Can member replace tired mod? (no I am not fishing for position!) I think members should be warned by private texting from mod about 'nono' in their posts and if they are not complying - time out. Permaban I think is critical and really harsh! Timeout can be from day to a month but eventually people should be allowed to come back...hope dies last??? Just my 2 cents...

You are welcome, Loony. Moon could probably explain better than I did and all my information came from her posting the other night.

Which Looney obviously didn't read.

I cannot divulge that information as it might compromise our agents in the field.

Mods do PM warnings before a temporary ban. Not that I would know.

Unfortunately, not knowing the rules won't work. If you are here, then by default, you know them.
I personally could not picture ALL the mods leaving at once and seeing this place fall off the virtual map, but if they did, then I think we'd either have to have new mods, or we'd be done.
Yes, it's been done several times. You can volunteer for the job. No pay, lousy hours, lots of mud slung at you, and the perks suck, from what I hear. But (most of us) will still love you anyway.
But public humiliation is so much more interesting, effective and creates the opportunity for juicy gossip.
.
Some folks have been given multiple mini-bans, and choose to be continual dumbass brainfarts. Sometimes repeated lashings with the ban stick simply don't work, I guess.
Oh, and thanks, Swamp! ;D

Loony -- there's no way this question helps you understand the rules any better. If you have a specific question about a proboards term of service, or a rule on this forum, send a private message to a moderator.
Asking how people can tattle on us doesn't give you insight on how to follow the rules. Drop it.
