so I know some of you said the iphone 4 already has navigation.....but I can't find it .....unless its this mapping app I found, but it's nothing like tunr by turn directions--it's just following a dot on a map on a route....I want some turn by turn directions (preferably with it set to a sexy female voice as well )
am I missing something with my iphone nav?
one love

It has gps built in. You can download navigational apps (I like google maps, but the mapquest app will talk to you). Both were free.

As GG said, the Google Maps app that comes with the iphone does have turn by turn directions, but it doesn't talk. You have to touch the "arrow" as you navigate around.
Mapquest does talk as you drive. I've found that it sometimes drops connection, but then, I live in a rural area with mountains.
There are also several other free navigation apps, but I don't think they are any better than the Mapquest app.
Rumour has it that the next version of the IOS operating system will have Apple's own mapping function.
TomTom for the iphone is supposed to work well, but it's expensive. I believe Apple worked with TomTom when developing the new Apple app. At least, that's the rumour.

I may be wrong, but I think TOmTom downloads maps to the iphone. The other services don't. So, tomtom should work pretty much everywhere. You wouldn't necessarily need an internet connection.
