"I ASKED the AM on duty how it would work if I used the $5/$15 and the 25% off at the same time and it didn't work out like she said it would. I originally had (5) pkgs. of toothpicks, but I had to have him take one off at the end. It's odd because I had $15 before non-sale items, so both the AM and I thought I'd get the 25% off on all of the toothpicks/but.....no. It's all good." I think they are trying to fix the registers so that CVS coupons don't overlap. I have heard of people who when the coupons ring they scan the % off before the CVS coupons like the $/$$ and CVS CRTs. The register will actually add back some of the % it took off because it recalculated after scanning the other CVS discounts for lack of a better word. I think Mfr coupons and programs are still working the way your and the AM thought it would. The number of CVS coupons and discounts has just increased so much lately. The way those work is much more confusing to me than a man coupon. It was still a GREAT trans! In my case, the only thing that really overlapped was that I was using EBs to pay. I did give the 25% off first and just like you described, it kept adding money back onto my total - so much so I had to ask the cashier to take out one package of toothpicks. I told him before I even started that I had talked to the AM and that she said that I could use both but that I wasn't sure how it was all going to go, so he seemed not to mind. IF the denominations of my EBs had been different, I would have split it into two transactions: one using the $5/$15 and one using the 25% off, but what I did resulted in the lowest OOP which is ALWAYS my goal even if I get a bit less product as a result.

the 5/15 CVS Q will reduce the amt of the percent off. So sometimes it's better to use the percent off Qs separately.

For me , if I pay just tax on a transaction, that is really great.

For me , if I pay just tax on a transaction, that is really great. Overall, I came out with $4 less in EBs and spent $.39 in OOP to get a razor, some replacement brush heads (DH decided he loves the Oral-B power toothbrush), and toothpicks that would have alone cost me $6.76 plus $.56 in sales tax and now DH can stop "reminding" me that we need toothpicks.

skubikky: YEAH!! You haven't forgotten us!! I usually don't print IPs before I know that I'm going to use them, but this is an unusually high valued IP and I know that it is going to go fast.

Dancinmama:Have fun on your vacation! Are you travelling to an exotic, distant location? Nope. DH has family in Colorado (a brother and two sisters) and that just happens to be one of the places that he often has to travel to for business, so he will be combining business and pleasure and my trip will be purely pleasure. ;D We'll be there for (9) days, only (4) of which he will be working. The rest of the time we'll be visiting with his siblings. I'm really looking forward to it. I can hardly imagine (9) days without using a coupon, but I'm certainly not going to take them with me. DS's girlfriend said that she'd do my coupon roundup for me, so I won't miss out on my coupons. Isn't she a keeper?

What the heck?! Thought I posted a reply, and got sent to Buck's Bee search engine?
Anyway - maybe this is a double but,
Have a great time Dancin'! Beach Bum, wish I had some free Coca Cola right now!
Jeep - what an interesting article - I looked at their website and cracked up at their "Wall of Shame" - here they are cheating companies out of millions, and they post people's names who wrote them bad checks!

No, you can not buy it in the store. It was completely pulled for the recall and the news this morning said they are having "production issues" and aren't sure when it will be available again... Why was it recalled? I hadn't even heard that it had been and we use the product. I'm sure it was discussed here when it was going on...I'd say it was late winter, early spring. They found that some prescription meds had been mixed in with Excedrin, and I think some GasX and something else was included. I sent all mine back to Novartis and was reimbursed regular selling price, plus shipping, which I thought was a good deal at the time since most were bought with coupons/rewards...but, DANG, $100 a bottle?! I sent like 12 bottles back!

I can't remember if it's been discussed here or not, but the BOGO Head & Shoulders Q is auto-deducting the max of 9.49 at CVS. It was doing it last week and this week. Last week the cashier let it go thru, today the manager rang me out and he adjusted it down to 6.39, the full price of one. I didn't want to argue so I just paid the $3.xx for the half price one. I wish I'd known cuz I was using my 4/20 and everything else I had was free after Q's and I wouldn't have added the other stuff I did. Oh well, that's the way it works out sometimes...

I bought two bottles last week and the cashier adjusted the coupon down to $4.50, so at that point it was a dead deal for me. I already had a few bottles in my stash, so I wasn't TOO bummed out. Besides last month I was able to stockpile Pantene and last week A LOT of VO5, so it's all good.

Quite frankly, I don't think I'd want to be without it which is why people are willing to pay so much for it. The bottle that I'm currently using (50 cnt) expired in April. I have another on just like it. Then I have a couple of the sample bottles from last year's Black Friday sales at CVS. I can't believe the product is still not available, however, if there isn't a killer sale on it, I would never notice.

Maybe this is where some of the shoppers on EC were getting all the "free" product coupons that has been reported were used on various episodes.

The sad thing is you know the manufacturer's that lost all the money, may not be so generous with coupons in the future.. It just upsets me. You know this is going to cause more changes to coupon policy etc.

You know this is going to cause more changes to coupon policy etc. Based on what we've seen recently, I wouldn't be surprised if it already hasn't started to happen. I started couponing/stockpiling when no one else was doing it. In the last few years as couponing has become more and more popular, spreading across the country and throughout the internet, it is not surprising that something like this has surfaced. Actually, I'm surprised we did not see it sooner.

Rljrdn I believe we have a handbook (kept by Dancinmama) that explains a LOT. If you shoot her a PM asking for it and giving your email addy I am sure she will/can send it.
The cheaper of my 2 bread outlets had NOTHING I wanted Tue, just burger & dog rolls and cheap, plain, soft loaves. The other outlet has already gone up in price - $1.25 vs. 1.09-1.19. I did buy 2 pkg but at 1.49 as what I wanted was not yet at rock bottom. I will keep watching. Also, I have realized I will need to buy MUCH more to have a stockpile. I had pretty much run a lot of items (except HBA, pasta & cereal) WAAY down.
It was the 10th of the month and as per usual my Safeway did NOT have the monthly produce booklet w/its coupons. Just went on line. NOTHING of interest for me.

You guys can probably blame me for the turning off of the H&S coupon scanning at full price. I used it the Sat before it actually came out. Sat still had the week befores sale where you got a $10 ECB for $30 worth of stuff which included the H&S. I was actually thinking this yesterday about them because I couldn't remember what I had bought to get the $10 ECBs since i know I didn't spend $10 in stuff let alone $150. ;D I don't actually remember what all I got. All I remember is a couple of transaction where I paid 0.55 cents Excedrin is also my DD's favorite. I only had some of the really small ones CVS kept making free after ECB. We had used some so I was pretty sure they didn't have anything else in them so I just kept them. I was thinking that if they don't go on sale soon she is going to have to use something else. It never dawned on me that I could have sold them for big bucks.

If I could have gotten my hands on enough coupons on Saturday (without having had to buy them), I would have done the same darn thing.....and A LOT of couponers out there did just that, so you weren't the only one. Besides, I think it is still auto scanning for a lot of people. The question is whether or not the cashier adjusts it down. For someone just starting out, it would be a bummer if it didn't work; but for many of us here who have been building stockpiles for our families, it's probably not that big of a deal.
