As some of you have noticed, we are having occasional problems with missing posts. Virgil has found that sometimes new pages on threads are not showing up until a certain number of posts have been made to it. He believes this is a simple error on Proboards' end of things, due to their databases having a post count out of sync with the actual post registry.
So, tonight at about 1:30 am EST, I am going to be putting the board into maintenance mode and running a command to recount the board totals. While the board is in maintenance mode, no one outside of staff will be able to access it. I'm not sure how long it will take to complete the recount, but since there are few users on at that time of the night, impact should be minimal.
Please understand that we don't know if doing the recount will correct the problem, but it won't hurt to try.

Wed night I responded to a post and half the page of previous posts disappeared when I posted my reply. It took about two minutes for them and my reply to show back up. Did not know if it was my computer or the board.

Yay and other exclamations of delight! At my advanced age, there's really no telling how long I can wait for replies to post. It would be a heckuva note for DD to find me over here in my granny flat sitting with my laptop and looking like I'm waiting for something (and I would have been), only to find that I expired while waiting...and wouldn't even have had the last word.
I hope that if I'm lucky enough to be up and running in the morning that PB will be, too ;D

Some threads go so OT that I probably never noticed nothing showing up or I am jumping from one thread to the other. I just usually figure my age is showing when I think "where did that post go" or did I post somewhere else and forget  Oh, and I will be sitting at a slot machine around the time the boards are under maintenance. I just hope ya'll don't mess with slot machines  |
