I just saw an ad for a band called "Free Beer." I thought it was pretty funny, and a good way to draw people in.
Also, the local cop/fireman softball team is called "Guns and Hoses" That always makes me chuckle when I read it.
Any local creative names that make you laugh?

You're making me laugh bringing up beer (again?). I spent some time living in Streamwood, Ill. and every year they had a softball game for charity (basketball maybe). It was called guns & hoses, it was quite a popular event.

Our derby league name isn't particularly clever, but a lot of the local leagues' are - the Dire Skates and Bleeding Heartlands are my two favorites.
One of the Indy leagues has two teams I like - Tornado Sirens and Warning Belles (we get a lot of tornadoes, ha ha ha).

In a town not far from me is called French Lick, the liquor store was called French Liquors and there was a huge mouth with a tongue coming sticking out as if it was licking. LOL It was awesome because it's a tourist town and theres always people from out of state there. Now they have a big red liquor store and it's not as funny.
I'm in Indiana as well.....

We have an amateur hockey team here called the "Raleigh Llamas" which I think is hilliarious. Of course DBF doesn't get it, because he tends to pronounce Raleigh incorrectly

Well, how is Raleigh suppose to be pronounced? I say it like Ra-Lee. LOL And yes, we have a great sense of humor here in Indiana. But you kinda have to, or you could go insane.

If saying "Raleigh Llamas" makes you think of the Dalai Lama you are probably saying it correctly However if you are like my DBF (who happens to be for Indiana) and it sounds more like Rah-Lee or Rally you are WRONG

I played on a volleyball team called "Oops, sorry" - we were not very good. I think the only game we one was the one where the other team didn't show up. But we sure had a good time, and apologized to each other a lot. Our t-shirts were hilarious.

Some friends have creative name for fantasy leagues. I've heard "off in the woods" and "two girls and a stanley cup", and a play with football player names: "Want Bush? Turner Over".
...:::"Rent a flick":::...
Wasn't there that sign for a clothing store that has an unfortunate lack of spacing: kidsexchange.

At Emory University, there were intramural sports leagues. Mostly made up of Fraternities. There were some Independent teams.
One called themselves the "Nads". That's so their fans could cheer them on with "Go Nads!"
The cheerleaders for Austin Peay State University yell:
"Let's go Peay!"

Been there as I grew up not far from French Lick (hometown of Larry Bird). The funeral home in my hometown is owned by the Adams family. And my fantasy football team name is nearly always The Fighting Amish.

Some of the regional women's sailing clubs have pretty good names, such as the Bitter Ends (also a sailing pun b/c the bitter end is the name for a part of the rope). My favorite, though, is the Treasure Island Yacht Club group that prints their name with an emphasis on the first letter of every word... "T. I. TackerS"

My hometown baseball team is called the Flying Squirrels. Their mascot is named Nutsy. Considering we don't have flying squirrels anywhere around there it amuses me. Especially since, when my dad was telling me this, he was laughing so hard saying "I can't make this up!".

My husband swears he knew a woman named Shanda Lear. I don't know whether I believe him or not. Did your husband frequent strip clubs regularly? There are always "classy" names there.
