But you have to wonder how many of the folks working entry level jobs and being supplemented by Uncle Sugar are doing so, not because of a lack of ability, but because they have been taught from birth that it is the government's job to take care of them and because it never occured to them to strive for better.


Yes of course, I do wonder that, but there are many factors involved. Perhaps I might urge caution about painting too generally with the specifics of your own value system when it comes to striving for 'better'; a person may well be striving for better but it might merely be that their idea of better is different to your own.

Well, as a taxpayer, I have every reason to have an issue with someone who is perfectly capable of being self supporting but chooses to rob my paycheck instead. And I also have every reason to have an issue with paying for medicaid and public schools for 2 families instead of one, because an American who was too lazy to get any marketable skills is also too lazy to take a dirty job, so an illegal alien is working that job while the American is working some prissy retail job 30 hours a week and collecting all kinds of benefits beyond medicaid and public schools because he earns less at the retail job than the dirty job.
