rljrldn, I'd say you handled that well also... but this...
For example: when ants started invading the coffee room one year, everyone just started bringing their own coffee because boss didn't want to use spray or call exterminator and thought ants were no big deal. Everyone just avoided the problem by bringing their own coffee until I finally spoke up and he finally called an exterminator. Yeah, we are that level of crazy
...makes me think that maybe this job isn't so great in other ways. I don't think I could deal with that level of passive aggression on a daily basis. What about when there's a bigger issue to discuss?!? People just don't say anything?

What about when there's a bigger issue to discuss?!? People just don't say anything? Yes and no. I've been here 11 years so it's not the end of the world. I figure there are pluses and minuses to each job. The pay is good, the benefits are good, I'm not micromanaged and have been able to have a great amount of experience and freedom on jobs. BUT Yes, I do want to leave. I have my resume and portfolio up to date and have "put myself out there." The moral and work environment here sucks and it's difficult to keep my chin up. My problem is that my field is very small and there are virtually no opportunities in my area. We aren't moving. DH's job makes 1.5 times more than me, pays for our healthcare, and he's doing well there. So I'm biding my time and hopefully something will open up in the next couple of years. I feel so stuck some days. My biggest problem now is I HAVE to learn a new program to stay current in my field. I have the down time to learn it, but no training is offered at all so youtube tutorials is the best I'm going to get. I have no initiative to do so because it's something I don't need here but I know I'll need it in the future. yeah, I just unloaded a bit there ;D
