For us, it was the meat grinder attachment for our Kitchenaid stand mixer. We bought it 2 years ago..
OMG, the burgers tonight were SO GOOD. I will never buy prepackaged meat again. Why did we wait so long?

the electric griddle I got for a gift many years ago, it's been buried in my pantry closet.
we used it for French toast a few weeks ago during a large brunch, when all other stove burners would be in use. holy crap, that thing is not going back into the pantry closet again. now I gotta figure out where to put it in the kitchen!

Iced tea maker that my ILs bought for Christmas several years ago. Since my dad only drinks iced tea, it is super easy to make quickly.

We also have the slicer/shredder for the stand mixer and the pasta roller. Something to look forward to next weekend!

I want a meat grinder attachment. I love the slicer/shredder attachment and use it often.
We keep our electric griddle in the laundry room, which is just off the kitchen.
I purchased a book several months ago and finally got around to reading it this weekend.

Some beautiful italian scarves I got at a second hand store. Took me two years to figure out how to make them work with my outfits.

MMC--what kind of meat did you use? I keep looking at my attachment and wondering if I should have got the free extra bowl instead, but now that I'm almost out of my brother's hamburger (he raises a few cows every year) I'm thinking I need to grind my own.

I recently bought the KA grinder from Amazon. We did some lean meat for burgers, but discovered you really do need to add some fat to the mixture. If anyone has used this grinder and made really good burgers, I'd like to know their secret. I haven't tried any of the newly ground meat for a casserole or tacos yet.

We went with tri-tip this first time around, which makes for rather expensive burgers. Next time we'll try chuck or chuck+ sirloin.

A cooktop that is 4 years old. We planned on remodeling our kitchen but didn't start it until recently. DH installed it yesterday. ;D

Hanging spice racks for the pantry. They sat in the box for over a year. DH finally hung them after he made dinner for me for Mother's day. Trying to find spices evidently drove him crazy enough to get the point of why I bought the racks.

Why did we wait so long? Ok, so this is something that a friend and I have been doing for a long time. You take a package of good meat, steak, roast, etc, run it through the meat grinder, then take a pound of bacon and run it through the meat grinder, the fat from the bacon binds just like the fat in normal burger, but tastes soooo much better, we usually add some flavoring, a favorite is raspberry chipotle sauce, but we have also done ranch, maple jalapeno, etc. Form into burgers, meatloaf etc, absolutely delicious.

We went with tri-tip this first time around, which makes for rather expensive burgers. Next time we'll try chuck or chuck+ sirloin. We've been grinding our own burgers and sausage for a few years now with the KA attachment. For burgers, we've found chuck is the best. We try not to include really large chunks of fat and find the end ratio turns out well. The difference in taste really is amazing!

He also has an ice cream maker from said wedding that got used once. I think i am also the only one to use the crock pot he had.

I've had meat ground at the store before, and I hate how even though 15% gets lost to the grinder, they still try to charge me for what I couldn't use.
I've made burgers from a combination of 80% sirloin and 20% beef short ribs.

I made fresh pasta for DW this weekend with my pasta roller attachment. I am not sure if semolina flour gets stale after sitting for too long though. I should have added more egg.

My dress today!!! I bought it on clearance at Target years ago, but could never fit into it so it went into the back of my closet. I was digging through the clothes for something to wear today and I found it. LOVE IT! And I finally lost enough weight that it fits well

I have a dress I bought before I was pregnant with DD that I love and still do. However, I got pregnant with DD before I had a chance to wear it and I need to lose some weight (and mommy pouch) before I can wear.

We had a disagreement over a vacuum bag machine, I said we didn't need one, he bought one anyhow. I set him up a place or it and the bags, jars and things and he used it a couple of times. Then it went in a box in the basement for a few years. I couldn't use it since I said we didn't need one and he only wanted to use it for whole salmon so didn't use it much. Then he ran short on rolls of bags so couldn't really use it.
Finally we went tuna fishing and brought home about 196lbs of albacore tuna while tired from being on the ocean three days. I went and got new bags and we froze all the tuna. Now I have it set up on a table so I can buy huge family packs of good steaks and freeze portions. This week boneless breast of chicken is 1.79lb but you need to buy 10lbs. I like to cook 1lb at a time for soup for at least 4 days, he doesn't like white meat of chicken or turkey.

Hey - you smarties with the meat grinders...
Something I did two years ago and I am most definitely going to do it again this year. You know how you can get either free or really cheap turkey around Thanksgiving if you buy $xx amount of groceries? I bought one, and defrosted it, and then I deboned it. I know that sounds like a big deal - and it kind of was, but it was really fun. I ended up making turkey cutlets from the breast and used the leg meat deboned. I wrapped them all individually and re-froze them and used that instead of chicken. It was a super-cheap way to feed my family. But, because I'm not a master-de-boner, I had scraps. I wish I had a meat grinder, I would have turned some of that turkey into ground turkey and used it for spaghetti or whatever. So, you might consider deboning and grinding a turkey. You can get pounds and pounds of meat for very little money.

I still have 3 turkeys in the freezer, when I started this diet I roasted one large one. I made him eat the dark meat because I am doing low fat. I ate the white meat then made soup from the bones and scrap bits.
If you need to grind a little meat like the turkey scraps you can use the blade in the bottom of the food processor and pulse it.

You can get pounds and pounds of meat for very little money. You can just put those scraps in a bag (and maybe cut a few more) and use them for tacos or something like that... I cut boneless skinless chicken breasts into small cubes then I cook in a pan with my made up taco seasoning (paprika, chili powder, cayenne, salt, cumin, oregano, I'm probably missing something). If I have a small bag of random chicken scraps from trimmings in the freezer, I put those in. Then once the chicken is cooked I add black beans in and let it cook a little more. When that's done I've go the base and just throw that in a taco or burrito shell with cheese and veggies. It's one of my favorites . My point is, the same thing with turkey would be good ... and thanks for calling me a smarty

Cr*p, I so do not have room to store a KA Mixer, but all this talk about grinding your own meat is making me want one.
DH and I finally hung some shelves this weekend that I bought in February.
DD has been baking and I swear she got every 9x13 pan in the house dirty trying to bake a cake she could unmold and frost. I suggested next time she try the springform pans I have above the Microwave. They have been used 2x in about 25 years. Once when I made a cheese cake and once when DH made a cheese cake.

To have a cake not stick you can grease the pan then put a sheet of waxed paper on the bottom then grease and flour the pan and waxed paper again. When it is cooked run a knife down the side then invert onto a large flat surface like the bottom of a cookie sheet. Then leave it a few minutes and it should slide out of the pan from gravity, then peel off the waxed paper.

Thanks Crone, I will tell DD. I knew about running the knife down the side, and kind of about the wax paper...but DD is cooking while I am at work. I certainly did not know to grease the wax paper!
I washed (3) 9x13 pans last night (DD was out jogging off the calories I think (lol), she said she was planning to wash dishes when she got home). She made a mess of the Red Velvet Cake, but DH said it tasted good! (I don't eat sweets except in very rare instances).

That is what I did, but if I had a meat grinder it would have been a better, more consistent texture. These scraps will all different sizes, they cooked at different speeds, the texture was weird - just overall, not as nice as meat through a meat grinder. But yes, I didn't let any of the decent meat go to waste. We ended up getting 6 dinners out of a $4 Turkey!
