Aww Jenny, I know it must be rough with a little one and now a new house. Wishing you the best of luck! I would really try to get through it since you've done a good bit of it already. Remember that you don't have to get through ALL of it ... you just have to get through this semester / term. And you can always re-evaluate things then. You need to look at it in small chunks. Also, remember that this is something you have always wanted to do FOR YOU. Not for DH, not just for more money, not for your son. For YOU. We are rooting for you! You can do this! If you can't we'll all still love you but please do try.

Group work is a good thing. Make sure you have at least one other smart person in the group and as much of the work as you can on them.

yeah, there is always the group Nazi who has to coordinate and micro-manage things - but then there is the group "bum leg" who makes everyone's life miserable. Last spring our group "bum leg" actually made things more difficult when she tried to do work. I had to end up re-writing her part of the final project because it would have dragged our grade down. The only plus is that there were private evaluations of each group member that were turned in to the professor. I think we all gave her the lowest possible score.

Okay, I don't want this anymore. I'm very tired, I miss my baby, and this class is dumb. I don't want to deal with homework anymore. I wanna cry now.

The first couple weeks will be hard because it's a big adjustment. You'll find a groove pretty quick though.

Grace used to sing this song when she tried to tell somebody something... I'm teasing you. I hope it's just a bad day and that it will get better for you soon. (((Hugs)))

Then it'll get hard again near finals time. But by then you're passed the withdrawal deadline and only have a few more weeks to go, so you'll stick it out anyway. Then you get a little break, and start all over.

You can 'line up, single file, in an orderly fashion'...wait, that was grade school fire drills.

nope, it's just not happening. Not for the forseeable future. I've been waffling about it for a long time, and now I have all the answers I need.
I'm COMPLETELY fine with my decision.

POM. ;D
Dark, yes - I emailed my program director about how to withdraw. Today's the last day to do that and get a full refund. Believe me, I've been turning this over in my mind for months, but I think I needed to show up to the first class to really be able to make this choice. And it's "not right now".
I thought I'd feel bad but I actually feel very relieved.

I met my quote of mean girl yesterday so I had to wait until today to say "I told you so"!lol Just kidding...well, I DID tell you but you had to figure it out on your own. Do what is right for you...honestly, it sounded to me like your husband was the one that pushed you to go back and I just had a feelign your heart wasn't in it....now you know it isn't so do what is right for YOU and not someone else. And now you can officially say you dumped your overchiever status and joined the rest of us slackers!

DH teaches math at a local college. He actually gives them a take home quiz that they have a week to complete with their book, Google or even have a friend do it for them. You would be shocked at how many don't turn it in at all.

I thought I'd feel bad but I actually feel very relieved. I felt the exact same way at the end of the fall semester when I decided to stop. It just wasn't worth the amount of time I was losing with the kids, and I've only got so many years left with them still around. Maybe I'll go back later, but for now I don't regret it at all.
