Hooray!!! I think I am more thrilled than her since I will be paying for even less of her wants. The place was actually kind of funny because when they interviewed her the mgr started out by saying they were the "most desperate" they have been for employees that they had been in years. DD said she got much more relaxed after that. ;D The weird part was when the mgr handed her the working papers and told her that he hoped she could get them completed in under 2-3 weeks. That sounded crazy long to me. I remember going into the main office and telling them I got a job. they said congrats and handed me my working papers for me to fill out. I filled out my part plus the employer and they signed the rest and I was done. Now the businesses get the working papers from the schools so they can fill out their portion and hand it to the student already with their section filled out, hopefully saving a day or two. The schools no longer will fill out the medical section even though they do a school physical every year. They say the student has to go to their doctor. So we called her doctors office and they said they don't just sign them they have to schedule an apt. The earliest they could get her in for the working paper physical was 3 weeks from next Tuesday. So I bit the bullet and found a "Doc in a Box" place most of an hour away. After an hour driving each way and an hour waiting and $69 bucks, she had her working papers singed. ;D

You have to have a physical to get a teenage job? That is what everyone said. One person said their Dr just tells people he will sign his patients papers for a fee. I have a bunch of neighbors who own seasonal business. They say it is a real problem for them. They REALLY need the students to start before this weekend but most can't get the working papers that quickly. So now most try very hard not to hire anyone under 18. It really was simpler when I was a kid.

Congrats to your daughter. If you have a CVS minute clinic, physicals are done there also. HTH

beach, Congrats to your daughter. If you have a CVS minute clinic, physicals are done there also. HTH Great minds think alike. ;D That is exactly what I did. The closest was an hour away but at least it is done and in time for the big weekend. And I don't have to pay for her new band jacket and awards dinner because of it. Aren't I a wonderful mother?
