Anyone familiar with this broker? At present, I am with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. I was a Smith Barney customer for years, and was happy with them. However the transition to the Morgan Stanley has not been smooth. Plus, MS may be having troubles, since they are unable to come up with the cash to complete the SB buyout. Time to move the accounts.
Any one have any pros or cons about Edward Jones?
ETA: I want a "full service" broker.

We have funds in both Morgan Stanley and Edward Jones. Jones fees are a heck of a lot less than Morgan, and they are more timely at tax time when it comes to end of year information. We are considering moving more to Jones in the future.

Lone, in speaking with Jones, a former "good" neighbor is working there, they seem to have all the services of a full service broker. Fees vary based upon the amount you have in your account. However, everything is negotiable, or so I was told.
How is James?

I use Charles Schwab and now Scott Trade ( New for me) So far I am happy with both. They have brokers if you desire them but I prefer to do it myself and avoid the brokers. Since brokers earn money by steering you into certain investments most don't have your best interest in mind. It's very easy to buy your own stocks maybe you should just transfer a small amount to one and try it out.
I guess I personally feel more comfortable if I'm the one driving!

Lone, with Smith Barney, we relatives are all tied together and get the benefits of being treated as a Tier 1 client. There may be something similiar at Jones. Maybe you will drop to a lower tier if you pull out.
The V, I also have accounts with Scottrade and am moving some more there from MSSB. For a discount broker, they offer a surprising number of services. Schwab is just not in the area - about an hour away.
