Every year, my calendar ends on Dec 31. That doesn't mean the world is going to end on Dec 31. Still, I was hoping for something spectacular on my birthday this year. Sure 37 isn't one of those normal milestones, but I'd still take it.

Wow, now all the ones that were making money off of this non-doomsday will have to find yet another scam to run. Really interesting story thanks for posting it.

Good, I had no plans to die this year. As long as the parachute opens next weekend anyway.
I wonder if the nut job in Sedona will still jump off the rock though? Have you guys heard about that guy? He claims to have seen a vision where a vortex is going to open just off the edge of a tall rock spire, only last for a few seconds, and if he doesn't jump through the world will end. He's had a website up asking for donations so he can enjoy his last couple years on earth before he jumps through the worm hole thingy to save us all.

What some people will not try to say or do to scam money.

What some people will not try to say or do to scam money. It's crazy right? It's such a weird scam too. The guy never said he wouldn't jump through the worm hole thingy if he didn't raise the money. According to his blog he's got to kill himself and save the world either way. He's just asking for the money to make his last couple years more comfortable. I'm trying to imagine why anybody would actually donate to the nutter, and I got nothing.

Fear and the unknown drive people to do all sorts of crazy and idiot things. It's flipping crazy is what it is, but people love crazy I guess.

For what it's worth, the Mayan calendar didn't add an extra day for leap years, so the end of the world by their calculations would have happened last year.

If the guy is truly nuts, and believes what he is doing, is it really a scam, or just a bunch of dumb people?
