Hi everyone, I'm getting "back on the wagon" as of today I use sparkpeople.com to track my exercise and food. I have the same username there too. Anyone else use sparkpeople? I am 5'8 and last week I weighed in at 163. My weight is up some as of today (my period is due to start today, plus I ate some high sodium food yesterday which bloated me some). My goal is to get to 140, but my wieght loss seems to have stalled with my running. I am gaining muscle because clothes fit better so I am headed in the right direction, but just not sure if I will be able to get to 140.

i don't use that website but i will check it out. That is great that you are running and getting fit. Don't let a number on the scale discourage you. The real goal is your overall fitness, feeling and looking better , not a number on a scale. I think too many people get hung up on that. It is great to set a goal, but you want to feel and look good for you, not an arbitrary number.

I Spark! Love it. I actually joined in 2010 but didn't use the site actively until this year.
Shooby is right about the scale. I've hit so many plateaus on the scale. But my clothes kept getting baggier. And my resting heart rate kept getting lower. And I kept feeling stronger and having more energy.

I only weigh myself as a general guideline once a week or so. There is no number i am shooting for. Just overall good health. I did check out Spark and i want to incorporate some Pilates exercises.

I would like to lift some free weights. Any suggestions. I did the bench press where you lay on your back on the bench. So far, i can only lift the 45 lb bar without weights! How many reps should i do and how many times? I don't know much about free weights. Just thought it would be fun to incorporate some new exercises. And, i want strength and tone. I also used that curved bar for some biceps curls but what else can i do with that bar. What other exercises?

Spark has tons of demo videos. You don't have to do anything on Spark, just pick and choose what you want to use.
if you are talking about the bar I'm thinking of (kind of a W shape), it's great for triceps too.
I love Pilates. I do Pilates at home several times each week. Plank holds are really good for toning.
