Have you been checked for fibroids and other issues? Heavy bleeding can be an indication of something like that.

All was well except for a cyst on my left ovary. Nothing to be concerned about unless it starts to be more painfull.

I tried anti depressants, Cran and all I ever do is sleep. And then some of them caused me to get more aggressive and angry (more anxiety)...I just don't know what to do. It's so frustrating. May just have to be something I have to live with. When I first started on Prozac it made me sleepy too. It soon passed though. My GYN told me that this antidepressant was the ideal one, and is being used, for PMDD. You can read about it here. www.pmdd.factsforhealth.org/treatment/meds.aspAnyway, of course, the choice is yours. I wish I could tell you it will get better, but for me it got worse and continued on with pre-menapausal symptoms--which made my life a nightmare and unbearable. Along with all the symptoms that PMDD gave me ..I then had to deal with hot flashes, night sweats, and insomnia. So for me, I really had no other choice than to go on Prozac. It has been a God-send as far as the PMDD goes. Whatever you decide. I wish you the best.. Thanks, Cran for the info. Yes, Shoobz...I have been to my Gynecologist...more times than you could shake a stick at. ;D He also prescribed me Wellbutrin, which as I said, I cannot take anti depressants. Since I have anxiety, it seems to escalate my anxiety into even higher gear, most of the time, Cran. But I have taken one or 2 that made me too tired to function. It's just so hard to find that happy-medium. I have also had pap smears and etc. done on me and they say I'm healthy as far as that goes. It's just the mental aspect of it that is debilitating. I can't even begin to explain all the emotions that play a part in how this makes me feel. As you said Cran, it feels like a big ball of anger or something and I just don't know what to do with it. I have started back exercising, thinking that the physical activity will help with de-stressing somewhat. Just taking it day by day, but you are right Cran, it gets worse, the older I get and I am having insomnia and all that stuff you described, as time has went on. Thanks for all the input you gals. At least, I know I'm not alone.

Wellbutrin is often used to treat anxiety and depression. And, sometimes a combination of therapies like tricyclics, SSRI's, benzos are needed to really treat the issues. And, you really cannot evaluate the effect of these medications by a couple of doses. Some of these medications take several weeks to build a therapeutic blood level before you can say whether it is working or not. And, medications do have side effects and sometimes it takes an adjustment period to work through those things.

Shoobs, I have been on anti-anxiety medication since I was 23, hon. ;D
I have been taking Klonopin for 17 years now, but that still doesn't alleviate all the depression and other emotions I am going through.

I know. I am just trying to make a few points. Sometimes you can't cure things but only temper them a bit.

My solution - a hysterectomy. It ain't so bad!! I highly doubt ,that unless I had a medical reason, that a Doctor would be willing to rip all my female organs out. But thanks for the thought. I'm sure menopause will come soon enough for that and I won't have to worry anymore.

They don't "rip them out". And, having severe PMS, heavy bleeding and so forth is a valid reason to do a hyster. They would leave the ovaries intact.

I didn't wanna quite get that personal about it but...I don't have that problem...It's just the moods in general, ok? And when I said "ripping them out"...It was a figure of speech.

There have also been some studies that have linked MSG and caffeine to PMS. Have you tried avoiding those, femme? I know I've seen it mentioned to you.

Yes, it has been mentioned but it is so hard for me to lay off caffeine because I always feel so drug down and tired. That could be from the meds I take, though. As far as MSG...I eat mostly home cooked meals, with the occasional eating fast food, but not so much anymore. Do you have any suggestions for something to help with energy besides caffeine?

I didn't know that. I figured that would help...a small one, anyway. I have noticed that when I do make myself exercise, I feel tons better. As far as the diet, I need to eat more fruits.

I take melatonin 3mg at night when I go to bed. Sometimes it works. Sometimes, not so much. Anyway, this is what my dr told me to take. It's better than nothing most of the time...

Daily coffee & alcohol consumption, along with self medicating on OTC drugs while also taking prescribed meds + lack of excercise/sunshine is bound to cause depression. Ever wonder if this is why you need to nap for a few hours in the middle of day - every day? (You also eat a lot of junk and take-out, according to previous posts).

I take that as well, Cran. It does help me sleep, although I take a 5 mg one, instead. It has it's times of working and other times, not so much. It is better than the anti depressants. I just can't handle those. I wish I could.

First of all, SL...You read a lot into my posting. I do not drink daily...I do however, have a glass of caffeine...I have minimized it to my regular 3 or 4 cups, to 1. ------------------ Are you counting the highly-caffeinated diet drinks you consume? Caffeine isn't limited to a cup of coffee.
