Ok, so I started to take a GNC supplement that is supposed to help me burn more calories, help with water retention, give me more energy..etc.
It makes me feel weird. I feel all jittery. Like I just had 20 cups of coffee. Is this normal? Does the feeling usually go away?

Try cutting back and see if that improves. Personally, i am not a fan of supplements and don't use them. But, if it works for you, then go for it.

I don't know how to cut back. I am supposed to take 1 packet of pills a day. There are 8 pills in the packet. I guess I could split the packet in half and do 4 pills in the morning and 4 at lunch? Not sure if that will work or if I am supposed to take them all together to get the most benefit.
I am taking them to help curb my appetite...seriously, I just want to eat constantly.

You'll probably have some caffeine and stronger stuff. Anytime you see the phrase "gives you energy" be wary. The abuse of perfectly fine ingredients in these supplements have caused some perfectly fine things to be banned just because these supplement makers used really high doses. Ephedra. I tried the wussiest one I could find years ago. There was no safe dose for me given the pill size. Took me days to bleed out of my system. Have you tried Hoodia?

Would you put the name of the supplement you are taking so some of us can look at the product and ingredients? The questions are - is it your mouth that is hungry or is it your stomach? The next question is - have I eaten the correct balance of food? Too many carbs can increase your craving for them but on the other hand, too few can trigger excess hunger. Another area to look at is do you have an allergy to milk or gluten? Take a look at Dr. Oz website. www.doctoroz.com. He has addressed the milk/gluten issue. Then, I tend to jump on the latest news stuff the past month because of lack of results. What he recommends is white bean powder, Raspberry ketone and African mango. The info is on the website. He recommends chewing a citrus or fruit flavored gum after meals to help with digestion and curb further eating. Mint gum apparently does not work the same. Another good place for fitness information is www.livestrong.com. My DD tracks her food intake and exercise on there.

There is nothing wrong with taking an unknown supplement and feeling jittery.

A couple more thoughts. Women usually plan and cook the meals. We are thinking about food almost all day long. Add to that the constant barrage of food ads on TV and the recipes in magazines as well as newspaper food ads compounds the problem. Throw in the fragrance coming from restaurants creates are real whammy.
I have a DH that seems to eat at odd times. He can trigger my desire to eat even when I have just eaten. Chewing gum comes in handy there, too. I cover up the large jar of almonds on my counter so I don't continually look at them.
I had a job one time where one of the offices cooked popcorn at 9:30 a.m. every morning. For someone on reduced eating that is excrutiating. I love popcorm but I'm allergic to it also. Another trigger are the office candy jars which are impossible to not look at.
Try to look for a reasonable substitute for what you crave. For me it's chocolate. I have light chocolate silk nearly every day and eat a 100 calorie Kudos rather than half of bag of other chocolates. If I have to have something creamy I'll add whipped topping to some chocloate silk.
One last thought is train yourself. If you need to munch constantly, get a timer and set it for 5 to 10 minutes and tell yourself you have to wait that long. Extend the time every time until you get to hours without munching. As a replacement, sip some cool nonflavored water.
I hope this helps.

I cut down to 3 per week on my multiple vitamins. Made a huge difference in my energy and mood. I didn't have to drag myself around. It's easy to get too many vitamins. A deficiency will land you in the hospital. That happened to my DD with a magnesium deficiency. I quit talking vitamins years ago with her as she was against them.

I have taken the pill packs from GNC, most of the dosage is way more than your body can process. Take only half of the pills(four of the eight, or one of each color, assuming you can tell them apart). I don't know which ones you have, but in mine, the red ones were the fat burners, and they would ramp you up. Even at 200lbs, I would only take one or I would get jittery just like you are. It made it impossible to focus on my workouts. I cut the dose in half and life was good.

I had friends that used to take that stuff. They got all hyper. They definitely had energy, but none of it was productive. Most of them couldn't figure out a way to burn that energy. They tried to work out, but because they felt sick, nauseas, weird, etc, the workouts were not very comfortable. One said she used the energy to make cookies, or go to the store and buy cookies. And none of them lost any weight.
There are no short-cuts.

In the summer heat, what works for water retention is get into a cold area like the freezer section of the grocery store and wait for you body to water.
The old grapefruit and egg diet would up to 10 lbs. in 2 days.
I have in the past taken a calcium supplement with Vitamin B6 at night to reduce water retention.
Dr. Oz says a 3-5 minute cold shower will help burn brown fat.
