The sky is blue, the grass is emerald green, it's a gorgeous opening day in Boston. Tek and Wake are in the booth. Not on the field.  Why are we not at Fenway, or at least the Chicken Bone? Malarky sad.  We are the victims of poor planning. I don't care about last September's implosion. I was a fan back when the Sox consistently disappointed. I wish I was there. |

I should mention that I blew off work and am currently watching the game on my big screen TV with a beer in my hand.....  of course, I'll be blowing off work next Friday to go to the Centennial celebration. ;D are you a hockey fan? we should hit up the Bone for the B's game tomorrow - 3:00 start. |

My consolation prize for missing the Centennial Celebration is that I leave for Vegas next Friday...finally. Every time we picked a date, something came up so we finally just booked the tickets. Meh, the kids and spouses can just fend for themselves...
Can't do tomorrow-I only have tomorrow afternoon and Sunday to get ready for my trip, and DS leaves for Chicago before I get home.
Do you work Marathon? If not-do you have plans? I have great seats on the route.

nope, gotta work Monday. I probably could have taken it off, but I took Friday off for Fenway and I'll be in Atlanta the whole week after for training. I miss watching the race in person, have fun out there. make sure your cooler is all iced up, it's gonna be a hot one!

Staying at the Luxor-BFF who you met at New Year's has a DH with corporate perks (not sure if you met him)...
Not really planning on gambling-it's a launching pad for eating drinking and seeing the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.

ooh, nice. we walked through there a couple times when I went, it was pretty snazzy. TBH, I met so many people that night, I can't recall who was who.  even if you don't gamble, you should stay on the strip a night or two and take in a show. whatever you end up doing, have fun! |

I ducked out early and have been listening on the radio. Holy hell, what an 8th, eh?? I think I might let Beckett come back out for the complete game....especially knowing what the bullpen has(n't) been able do so far this season!

Mark Melancon in the 9th-don't even know him-but I haven't watched a lot of National League ball in the past couple of years. I clearly have a lot of catching up to do. He's not the first player I didn't reconize today.  Glad our home opener is going well, given our abysmal start. |
