DH has sleep apnea and has to use a machine at night. The provider would PREFER to send him all his supplies on their "approved" schedule. He's refused. The air filters cost something like $15 from the provider, but he got his from an air filter at Home Depot for $3-4. He's told the provider that he will order new supplies when he needs them rather than having them automatically sent. The provider calls him every month to make certain he still means it!  |

I had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. The insurance company wanted to know what I felt was a fair price to pay for my scars. They were amazed that I wouldn't take any money for them.
I don't actually scar unless I practically sever a limb. Even I can't see them unless I'm looking closely. I was grateful to have the surgery paid for and knew that even if I did have scars-they wouldn't be disfiguring. The point of the entire exercise was to regain the use of my hands, not to look pretty.
DH was also offered money for a scar due to a work related injury. Even though his was an ugly mess, it faded over time. And was a great conversation piece.

Part of the reason insurance goes up is due to subscribers and providers that 'abuse' the policy.  |

If you want to be doubly outraged, just look at the signs on light posts to re-purchase your excess diabetes supplies.

An adjuster can not offer a claimant money for disfigurement or permanency without the claimant or claimant's attorney asking. |
