Regarding he P&G inserts...I've noticed that what they do is pick a couple of products which they will offer a higher value (this month it looks like Head & Shoulders, last month it was buy 1 Olay Cleanser, get a free body wash up to $8.99) But I do have to say that this one coupon is very annoying....$1 off Crest 3D White..REALLY?! Whats the point I would hope that corporate would take notice and realize a significant drop in sales with less coupons being redeemed. I know there are eggs to be had cheaper this week than at Rite Aid, but $2.86 for 2 dozen w/my 20% discount, minus $.55 IPQ, minus $2.00 in UPs equals $.31 paid for with a RA giftcard. Coupon database: Where do you ladies who don't cut out coupons every week find out which insert a specific coupon is located? I have to confess that my binder still has coupons from Dec. 2011. With my job situation this year, the last thing on my mind is cutting and filing, but I'm at a loss for hunting up what I need. I did write the date on each insert like I've read that you all do but where do you find the coupons without looking through each one?

the coupon databases on hotcouponworld or swaggrabber lists the coupons by inserts and date, if you keep your inserts sorted by date, you should be able to find what you need pretty quickly. I use a diaper box to keep my inserts upright and easy to find and haul around with me. I can access both the databases listed from my android based cell phone to find coupons on the go...

To find out whether all the coupons in any particular insert have all expired, I used www.thecouponclippers.com . HTH

That is so true! Also, it depends on the "season" as well..for example, right after Christmas, there was a ton of health and diet coupons out there...EG, I got 24 bottles of Flintstone's vitamins for about $10. Also, right now, there is a ton of high value allergy coupons (IE, $7/1 ANY Allegra coupon this week, a few weeks ago it was Zyrtec) so keep your heads up! HOUND ALERTHey I dont know if anyone has this coupon or not, but I am looking for a BV Coastal Estates Wine coupon..not sure what insert it is in but it is worth $1 and I know it is VERY REGIONAL (California, Nevada, maybe AZ) if anybody has one to share, please let me know! If there WAS a coupon for the BV Coastal Estates wine, it has probably expired. I looked it up on the HCW database and they list no such coupon. If you happen to find what insert it was in and that's it's still valid, let me know. Yes, coupons are definitely seasonal. We should start seeing all coupons related to barbecue foods and products in the coming weeks.

Mostly for newbies: What was described with the Downy Unstoppables is not uncommon. Wasn't it a fairly new product when the $2/1 coupon came out? When a product is first introduced on the market, the manufacturer will almost always offer a very high-value coupon to entice people to try the product, hopefully REALLY like it, and become brand loyal so that they can gain market share against their competitors. Later coupons often are of a decreased value. Sometimes they will still offer a really good coupon on their product once or twice a year which is the time to once again look for the freebies; Finish dishwasher detergent is a good example of this. The trick is to not get too brand loyal to anything and stockpile new products when they first come out, especially if you can get them for free after sale and coupon. If you don't like the product, you haven't lost much (sales tax); if you like it, you've gained a lot of product for free - and hopefully enough to get you through until the next NEW fabric softener or dog food or dish washing liquid comes out accompanied by another really high-value coupon making that new product free. Rinse and repeat over time and you can get the product that you use every day for a greatly reduced cost or for nothing at all. You are absolutely correct. Key in my post was like/liked. There is no way that I would buy the product now. Gain is another one. When Gain "new and improved" itself, and CVS was paying us to take it off their shelves. Yep, I was all with you. DH and I hated the stuff. Good thing it was for free. DB was happy for the donation. He likes it. IMHO, keeping track of pricing and paying attention to sales is well worth the time. Couponing and stockpiling take time. It costs too much to jump in with both feet. My BIG Wags trip in March was the B1G1 Scotchbrite sponge three pack. It was $4.29 for a pack of three. Used a coupon from the Wags calendar (actually a Christmas Gift to me..who would have thought? (Thanks Mom) $1.00 off two and an insert coupon for .75 off two. Six sponges that I do use for $2.54. What was ironic, the Wags questioned their OWN coupon!

Thanks for looking, but I just organized my coupon binder and found 2 $3/2 BV Coastal Estates coupons...very regional..like I said, only California and Nevada can redeem them.. but I picked up a spring coupon book that has a $6 coupon off meat if you buy a 2 bottles of BV wine

There is a giftcard offer for transferring prescriptions to Walgreens. The giftcard is worth $25.00. I believe CVS and Rite Aid will match a transfer, or at least they used to. It's on hip2save site.

leanna, Can you expand on the Albertson deal? TIA Absolutely! The Marie Callendar deal may not be replicable. I was just referencing my own plans for the week, to point out that there are deals out there. Part of finding deals is knowing what's in our own coupon stash, because we may have unique q's that can create a good deal. Marie Callender's Bakes - on sale $4.99 MQ that I got in a prior Marie Callendar's box - ($1) Doubler -($1) Alb's Frozen Food q that they mailed me - ($3) Net: FREE Kraft marshmallow 2 for $2 MQ .40/2 = -(.40) Doubler = -(.40) CAT OYNO = -($1.00) Net = .20 for 2 bags of marshmallows (Theoretically, you could double that cat, making the marshmallows free+)

I would never "pay for it" cuz I don't think it degreases very well, but "for free" I can make it work.

Marvholly and leana: Thank you for your kind words. Eating better has become a daily struggle with me. Most of the time I do great, but I still "fall off of the wagon" sometimes. My offer for recipe help still stands. Most of them are on my computer anyway and easy to attach to an email. I especially like my faux baked potato (cauliflower). Having it tonight w/a turkey burger.

Hey all, long time no see! I still haven't had to hound much in the past couple years thanks to the super duper stockpile that I created when I was a regular back in 2007 and 2008. Holy moly! Has it really been four years? Wowsers. I take advantage of a few deals here and there--did the Rite Aid buy $40 in Kimberly Clark products, get $10 Up yesterday. I bought six boxes of Kotex "plugs" at 2/$6 and five boxes of Kleenex at $.99. I haven't had any coupons in awhile so I paid the whole amount for that but was able to get 23 cans of Friskes (10/$4.50) and paid only $.35 after using the Up. Got another $2 Up in return. I'm two payments away from being credit card debt free so will probably start up my paper again to get the Sunday coupons. Holidays aren't good for coupons, right? So, I should wait until after Easter to start it then? Looking forward to chatting again. Oh, dancinmama, I'm headed home for a few weeks this summer and plan to fly into San Jose. You still in garlic town?

Well, day #1 in April and I've already saved over $40 by using coupons. I bought (8) of the Zantac tonight at WAGs cuz that's how many inserts I was lucky enough tot get. Do any of you remember when that product first came out and the 8 cnt. was a MM at WAGs? I'm pretty sure it was free after coupon and you got a RR cuz I had a HUGE stockpile of them (I would never have had that many if it hadn't been a pretty big MM ). The product is so good though, that I was willing to pay $.99 plus tax for them this time around. I donated a lot of the other ones that I had purchased before they expired, but I'll be hanging on to these per suzi's little lessons about the longevity of OTC meds.

Morning all! I have actually had a pretty good few weeks at the grocery store. I had some kraft cats from a deal back in FEB that I have been using plus some good matchups. I swear I live in backwards land. Last week I got 8 LOL 1lb butter for $0.97 each. 2 lb Sorento Mozz cheese $0.99 each 2 Sorento ricotta cheese $1.99 EACH I think with the Kraft I got a bunch of Capri Sun juice boxes plus I dont remember what else. I want to shout out to FrugalSuz a big thank you for inspiring me to try Staples rewards program!!! I tallied up my March totals. In March I bought in assorted paper, ink and other office supplies $179.97 total, I paid $75.81 after coupons/rewards. ;D The best part though is that for those purchases I got $46.83 in rewards for next month PLUS sent in for $46.14 in Easy rebates! For March I came out ahead by $17.16 all for buying stuff that we need. (I also used the rebates from Feb to pay for some of my March OOP. ;D)

HOUND ALERT: Allegra coupons from yesterday's paper. Neither one of my papers---not even the GOOD paper ---had them. Vince says they are what works best with his allergies and I'd like to get a stockpile going with the $7 Q. Has anyone heard of Insane Inserts? A lady at Kroger was telling me about it the other day and I can't find the website. They send coupons out of Florida.

I am having trouble making the Allegra deal work for me. Meijer has the 30 count bottle of Allegra on sale for $15.99 (from $17.99) and a store coupon for $3 off. With the $7 MQ, that's 5.99 for 30 or about 60% off. However, Meijer brand generic equivalent of Allegra is $34 for 300 count. I'm using the generic now, and they work great. It just seems silly to go from paying $0.12 per pill to $0.19 per pill, just to a) use 2 Qs, and b) not buy generic which I already like anyway. Maybe I should just get the free 5 count at Target instead, and not use my Meijer coupon...

Albies for me is a hit or miss - sometimes they don't double or sometimes they take off too much. But I guess one cancels out the other and I don't make waves when I go there , since I go there once every quarter or so to use the doublers.

I would just buy the free one at Target to use the Q. For me the regular Allegra is the one that works best. I have 3 of the coupons and a 5$/25 any allergy meds from CVS, so I am buying 4 of the free ones at CVS to keep me stocked for close to a month.

Saveinla: I PM'd you and thanks again. Dancin: Are you only adding up the grocery/drugstore MQ's that you have used? Do you also count rewards, catalinas etc.? Everyone that tracks has their own system of doing things. My totals are less than what they used to be too, but I count everything like clothes, restaurants, gasoline, oil changes etc... On one of the sites where posters put photos of what they bought, some of them count the price matches and sale prices of their deals. I don't do that because I buy the majority of my stuff when it's on sale or do without. Still, your total isn't too shabby if you haven't been doing too much. rubyslippers: Nope, the total is just the paper coupons (MCs, CRTs, EBs). I haven't gotten or used a single RR or UP this year so far. Since there have been no absolute freebies at WAGs (sale - coupon = $0 AND you get a RR) I haven't done any RR deals this year. The really good Catalina deals at Safeway are few and far between. I'm lucky if I find one or two good ones in a year. So I just patiently wait for the very best deals and swoop on those; I let the rest go. There have been quite a few weeks where I haven't done any deals at all. When the time is right and the deals pick up more, I'll be back in full swing. ;D Regardless, I'm happy with the savings considering that I'm not doing all that much. This is me, now, Dancinmama. I don't buy it unless it is a really, really good deal or it is FREE. I patiently wait for markdowns plus coupons. Occasionally, I will use an EB and expect a new, fresh EB in return. This works for me. Fortunately, I have a huge stockpile. I store my shampoos and body soaps in banana boxes in the garage. When I need more in my inside bathroom cabinets, I just look in the boxes and bring some bottles of whatever I need in.

I have missed "hounding," but this now means that I have more time to exercise and plan my meals carefully. Two weeks ago, I bought heads of iceberg lettuce for 25 cents each. I cut one head in quarters, so it gives me 4 meals. 25 cents divided by 4 = less than 6 1/2 cents each meal, LOL.
The rotissere chicken at Costco is only $4.99 and is enough for about 6 meals.
The first two meals: Chicken breasts and vegetables. The next two meals: Tacos The last 2 meals: Homemade chicken noodle soup with vegetables.

I hate that Ralphs (Kroger in California) is cutting back and not doubling coupons as of April 1. We will just have to go to the stores that do double, or go where the deals are.
This action is another example of the repercussions from the couponing show on television. I am not proud of those people. They ruined a good thing for the rest of us by exaggerating what they do. Shame on them, LOL. Some executive from Kroger probably watched the show one too many times and said, "NO MORE."
Who can blame them when the people and show makes us look like greedy crazy people that they can do without?

Dancin: thanks for this heads up as I didn't get this in my regular inserts, this coupon wasn't on my radar, so the deal wasn't on my radar either. Now I know where to get some cheap zantac which I use. I also remember the MM deal from 18 (?) months ago, I am using my last pack right now....
