I know I should ask a doctor, but you guys are my first stop. When I do squats, which I tend to hit heavy, I have noticed more and more broken blood vessels on th upper parts of my legs, should I panic? Or is this a normal thing?

I agree with rob. Do you wear compression shorts when you lift heavy? That might stop the breakage. Also, are these spidery (thin) or huge and bulging veins. The latter are viscous.
If you are totally ripped and near zero body fat, the big veins are normal. Look at the big body builders to compare.

I don't wear compression shorts, although maybe I should start. These are thin spiderweb looking things, they don't hurt, but look pretty bad, kind of like a permanent bruise. I will ask the Doc, was more curious than anything and wondered if anyone else had the same thing.

Those broken blood vessels could be your skin stretching and making stretch marks. I have permanent spider veins where my left upper chest compresses for the golf swing.

Did you consult an MD and what was the outcome?

Hey tractor, I have a same problem, but mine is on the lower back of my legs, right by the ankles. It's due to stress. I went to see a doctor and they told me the only way to get rid of them is with laser. Doc said that sometimes it goes away and sometimes it doesn't without a treatement. Mine is due to me sunburning my feet. My ankles swelled up so bad...right after that, I noticed those things behind my legs...
