I never see these mythical people. In my neighborhood, the big sellers for the food stamp crowd is rice and beans. Truly not "mythical" at all! I was behind a couple with a few groceries, two big bags of dog food (40 or 50 lbs each) and a couple cases of beer. There bill was rang up at one cash register with a "broken" card reader, the total was then put into another register and the ebt card used there (this got around the card not paying for the dog food and beer--it paid for everything). This was at a store that was part of a locally owned "chain" (they had 4 stores in our small town) that had two stores get shutdown for food stamp fraud when food stamps were paper, they would buy the stamps for cents on the dollar and turn them in for the full amount. That store was finally shut down and they lost their last store about two years ago. The "bad card reader" event took place several years ago, I don't know if they could still do that now or if that has been fixed.

Apple - I think those that want to commit fraud will find a way to do it!
