My mother loved it so much that she went back again in the same year. Plan on at least a week and make sure you follow the advice about acclimatising over a couple of days. You might let folks know how old are your kids. My mother had had a double knee replacement surgery a couple of years before so her trekking was limited to a few miles a day. She and her boyfriend went with a guided group who donated their proceeds to an orphanage and school in the area. My mother wasn't a big small child lover but one of her favorite parts of the trip was visiting the school. I don't have much of her travel materials and therefore can't give you the group name. It does look like on her second trip they spent two weeks with one week doing an Amazon Cruise and a visit to Lake Titicaca through International Expeditions www.ietravel.com. Good luck and have fun!
