Any total stock market index fund is good.
A target retirement fund is good.
The Vanguard STAR fund is good if you are looking for a balanced fund.

I have: Vanguard STAR (in a taxable account which is tax inefficient because of the bonds) Vanguard Total Stock Market Vanguard Total International Stock Market Vanguard 2040 Target Fidelity 500 index I think that is it.

For me, it's not my first fund, but I don't want to put all my eggs in one or two baskets, so I was looking for additional places to stash IRA and/or taxable $$
