The effect of the sweater vest is invariably many fewer offers to engage in the act of pro-creation... This would be a net positive effect, no?
Yeah, but a vasectomy is easier on the ego .....

What I never have understood was how Elvis got away with wearing all those ridicules jump suits, complete with WW Wrestling belt and buckle, Dracula upturned collars, and superman cape, without anyone ever making fun of him...

I loved to see him jam with the guys and his sense of humor. I have quite a few books and CD's too... ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/shucks2.png) Yep, he had it all!!!

I am very proud that I have a velvet Elvis. It will go into the eventual man-cave.

Santorum is now trailing in BOTH Michigan AND Arizona. he has blown a 10 point lead in Michigan. if Romney clobbers him next Tuesday, that is going to set hip up PERFECTLY for super Tuesday. Santorum is going to have a very rough time, if that is the case.
for the record, i think that Romney pulled a fast one on Santorum in the last debate. he is not that strong of a debater, but he is way more prepared to for attacking candidates than Santorum is. that is precisely what makes him a better candidate, for the record. that, and his immense organization and funding.

Everything is wrong with the sweater vest. It's hideous. Whatever happens, please do not bring back the Nehru (sp?) jacket.

Back to topic. Romney has it just about wrapped up now, just like I stated 3 pages back. Now let's get back to our regularly scheduled fall election, and convert Washington DC to the newly conceived Tea Party program.

Santorum is still leaving in the polls, VB.

Santorum was never a serious candidate in my opinion. He will continue to implode. he is LEADING usa. leading is not imploding. now, he MAY implode. i can't argue about the future. but clearly, he has NOT imploded. he is ahead of Romney, and could very easily win Michigan.

Romney is up in Michigan polls again... i rate that as a statistical tie. but yes, ONE of the two latest polls has him behind by more than polling error.

Elvis was probably the most hyped entertainer of his time. Much of what he produced was for the consumption of the LCD, most of his films were as trashy as the National Enquirer.

Next, you will be telling us that Elvis's, "Do the Clam" was not one of Rock and Roll's Greatest moments!

Presley was a very gifted singer, and a real entertainer- but he couldn't really compose, his interpretations were mono-syllabic, lacking texture and sensitivity, and we won't even begin to get into his personal behavior.

I enjoyed much of Elvis' music, he did have a good voice. Unfortunately, his best stuff was somewhat over-shadowed by his over-hyped lesser work. In any case, only a small percentage of his fans tried to assign him "demigod" status. I figure only a small percentage of the population suffers from the compulsion to either deify or demonize. The deifiers and demonizers are the dangerous ones... unfortunately, you find them in every lynchmob and terrorist organization.

Back to Santorum... I see his sweatervest as being akin to Arafat's keffiyeh. It's a broadly-visible garment by which he can be identifified. It's ironic to me that Santorum decries Obama as being "elitist" for promoting accessibility to college education; Santorum repudiates "the intelligentsia" and academia (i.e., scientists and such)... while wearing the garment I associate with academes (sweatervests).

Perhaps... but he is missing the sports coat with the leather elbow patches. Without that, he just looks like the kind of guy who still wears pleated front khakis.

"choirboy" with those hips? But I have to say his religious CD was outstanding if you ever heard "Peace in the Valley" or "How Great Thou Art". My older brother worked part time at the Hilton where Elvis performed and it was a packed house every night. I remember seeing the videos and it was not all women in the audience either. A lot of the stars were there and I remember seeing Sammy Davis, Jr. in the audience. He knew how to put on a show and rock the house. His backup singers were great also. I never liked his movies but I loved watching his concerts and he sure had the looks.
