I just want a nap! DD is teething (her first tooth is just about ready to cut) and she's NOT sleeping! Was up for 2 hours last night and hasn't taken a decent nap today... If she keeps this up until dh gets home I'm going out to get a bottle of whiskey! A dab for me, and a few slugs for me!
She's taken as much acetaminophen as I can give her and ora-gel has been applied as frequently as possible. But still my happy little hunka, chunka love has turned into a MONSTER!
Please let all her teeth come in at the same time... please...

Thanks, MM! And you reminded me that she's now old enough for motrin! I'll have to try that next round. I know motrin is more effective than tylenol for me, maybe it's the same for her. I'll have to look into the teething tablets - are they just something to chew on?

Just fyi... The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today is warning consumers that Hyland’s Teething Tablets may pose a risk to children. The FDA recommends that consumers not use this product and dispose of any in their possession. The manufacturer is issuing a recall of this product. Bad MM! Rose you have my sympathies, I think DD is going to cut her first tooth any day now. She spent all day Saturday either screaming bloody murder because it hurt, sleeping on my chest, or screaming bloody murder because I tried to pry her off my chest. Not fun.

DS suffered so we all did but DD didn't at all so it can vary. I used the dog pretzel things and put them in the freezer. The cold helped numb the area. It's the worst thing in the world. Your child is suffering and you can't do a bloody thing about it. GRRRR!!!!

Yeah, it just sucks. As a parent there's just not much you can do. She finally took a decent nap, so that will help! And instead of all the chilled teethers she loves her "sophie". It's so funny watching her go after it! ;D

My gram put whiskey on my gums...could explain my love of alcohol I hated the teething years...my doctor only approved Tylenol and the teething rings. I can't remember why, but he wasn't a fan of Orajel. My "baby" is now 9 1/2 so I am a little fuzzy on the details.

They don't recomend motrin under a certain age, and the orajel can suppress the gag reflex... mostly you just have to wait it out. And ds is 3 and I'm already fuzzy on details from him!
