Is the sales tax deduction available for federal taxes for 2010? I'm not talking about the new car one, just the other option if you don't take state income tax. This is the first year I will be able to itemize and I live in Texas, so I don't have a state income tax to deduct. I know it was set to expire, but I never saw if it was included in the bill where they extended the Bush tax cuts.

Yes, the choice to deduct either state income tax or state sales tax has been included in the new tax law for 2010.
