It's the question on everyones minds. It's the talk of the town. It's an inevitability. How can China "diversify" out of their excess reserves and not not up like Japan from the 90's until now or the US in the 30's. China has printed as many RyaunMB as they have in reserves, plus they have an overbuilt real estate market. But the real question is, and sum ppl been takin' bout this for a while. .... How long before the grand announcement of "China's" new brilliant economic plan, developed jointly with the US of course. DEBT FOR FOOD My guess is that within the next two years. North Korea is rumored to be out of food by June. China's food supplies aren't in a much better situation either. Plus they have that whole inflation thing to deal with. Shampoo up 23% m-m? Yeah and they report their actual inflation numbers alright. One could argue that they have a huge military, but lets face it, they don't have the support of their nation. I would be willing to bet that every single person on this board would fight if it came right down to it. Don't think China doesn't have THAT factored into their little plan. So let's take that discussion off the table in this thread, that could be a topic somewhere else.. Anyone else think that we see something like this? So while it wasn't food that the Chinese ended up buying with their massive debt holdings, they did indeed have a plan working in the background with the US govt to use their massive holding to benefit the USA. If the USA has 2 trillion in backlogged infrastructure repair, this is going to probably cover half of it.

Since this thread was stared as part of the over all theme that the USA is still a great place, I will just change the conversation. Some interesting developments in the bio fuels industry could lead to some really great investment opportunities. Plus anyone around here that makes oil products from a renewable source will now a have place to keep us all updated about the progress on a new project that is sure to create jobs in the US. If they choose to that is. Oil giant BP buys into CoolPlanet’s negative carbon fuel www.petrolplaza.com/news/industry/MiZlbiYxMjgxMSYmMSYzMCYx

Another reason for NObama? *From the article above. So will this govt program kill innovation by making certain types of alges oil cheaper than they are? Just like Solyindra?? I know that your already there with JUST private money.. Why do we need NObama to step in? For attention to his campaign

Are they planning to use the wood as fuel for an electric power plant? It doesn't say. The large amount of carbon released from wood, for BTU gained, creates a problem when calling it green tech. Or do they call it that because it's relatively better than just burning it outright as waste.

The way that I understand it, and BiMetal knows more about this than I do, is they are going to be using all the stuff they are currently burning in the beehive to make steam and generate power. It's not so much that the C02 won't still be there it's just that we aren't waisting the energy, we are harnessing things we weren't thinking about before and that's what building a better future is all about. I don't know what's really "green" about wood biomass, aside from maybe the selling point? Less waste? I have read that wood biomass produces more energy to C02 compared to oil.

Another world leading technology coming out of Alberta - a place built and funded by oil - has the city of Edmonton on pace to a waste diversion rate of 90 per cent by 2016. Over the next 30 years industrialized nations will eliminate the need for landfills, they will then be known as power plants and gas stations. Talk about a brilliant way to use non recyclable material. Edmonton’s new waste network deploys Enerkem’s green chemistry
