Hello all,
Last year i recieved a 1098 for a student loan interest. I had already filed my taxes by then. The interest was for $24.
My question is can i use that interest on this years returns?
Thanks

No, you should get a 1098 again this year for student loan interest you paid for 2011.

frep is correct.... 2010's student loan interest was deductible for 2010 only....

You obviously could file an amended return for 2010 using the $24 interest but I doubt it would be worth the time for the $4 you might get back from it. To be honest I'm more impressed by the fact that your interest was only $24
