"The ones that won't pull over get sent to FL. "
How many people in Florida actually drive at the speed limit not below it?

"55" on the speed limit sign do drivers NOT understand! 'Cause I'm a complete biatch, I drive no more than the speed limit, and I'll even stay at that speed if I'm in the left-most lane passing a slower moving vehicle. Yeah, it annoys the people behind me who want to go 20 mph over the posted speed limit, but they deserve to be annoyed since they're the ones flouting the law and endangering themselves, their passengers, and others on the road.

I don't have a problem with 55=70, I DO have a problem with 55=40! OH!! In that case - JERKS!!!! My husband prefers "cock smokes," his go-to name for other drivers.

Actually, if flow traffic is going 70 and you're going 55, you're a traffic hazard.

Try driving through Wyoming some time. They have 90 degree turns in the roads marked 75 mph. Anybody who can drive their speed limits ought to be given a medal.

From what I understanding about the laws in Texas, it's just a suggestion. My g-daughter has a degree in Criminal Justice and she tried to tell me that about Arizona. I have yet to see a sign that says '55 suggested'. The word used is LIMIT. According to Webster's Dictionary the definition of LIMIT is 'setting a point beyond which something cannot or is not permitted to go.'

Those that actually do 55 should stay in the right lane. 55-70 o.k. over 70 and lane weaving, not so much. Under 55 has a death wish.

I don't have a problem with 55=70, I DO have a problem with 55=40! Exactly...stop it. It's an interstate.

"The ones that won't pull over get sent to FL. " How many people in Florida actually drive at the speed limit not below it? I live in Florida and seldom have this problem. As a matter of fact - the running joke is 95 is the speed limit not the number for the interstate!

ETA: CC users are routinely allowed to go over their limits. As for CC - just like the speed limit, you can certainly go above it but there are penalties involved for bad behavior. Ask my boss - he gets a ticket about once a month and has an attorney on speed dial to fight them or at least not have it reported as a conviction on his D.L. It gets expensive after awhile. I don't speed because I just don't want to have to pay the consequences. I don't go above the speed limit, but I do maintain the speed limit unless there is a hazard. If someone else chooses to go above the speed limit though I will move over unless it is hazardous to me

"55" on the speed limit sign do drivers NOT understand! I understand it just fine. What I don't understand is why Slowpoke McSlowpokerson (a.k.a. Cheesy) is actually following said limit, holding up the rest of us normal drivers who actually have to get somewhere important (like the bar) in a timely fashion.

Around here if your going between towns going 55 means that your a traffic hazzard. Sure it's posted as 55 but if you only drive 55 you never get to where your going.

If you ride their bumper close enough and far enough, sometimes they'll pull over and let you pass. Yep - 3/4 ton Suburban here and I can attest to the truth of this statement. Nope, I do brake check

That works well in Canada if you are on a winding road and want some fun.

From what I understanding about the laws in Texas, it's just a suggestion. So true! We have wide edges on our roads. If your coming up fast on someone & they don't move to the edge to let you by then you know they are from out of state. As for speeding: When I was young I got at least 2 tickets per year. Now I know the secrete to not getting tickets. Get old, drive a big red truck, & just don't give a darn if you get a ticket. I've passed police cars in 55 mph zones & I was going 70. I wave & keep going. If I get a ticket ......oh well.

Cheesy - you have to be very close to them (basically, all they see is your bumper in their mirror - really great when it's night time and your lights are in the mirror too) and confident in your driving abilities. When I do this, I'm on high alert that they might slam on their brakes. Now I'm going to preface this by saying that, other than in shitty conditions, I don't go below the speed limit (or usually at the speed limit either), but if someone is tailgating me, I slow down. A LOT. Especially when they are flashing their lights to MOVE Go right a head. I don't mind. But let me hit my brakes and watch who gets stuck with the bill!

So what Im reading here, is that driving 15-20 over the speed limit makes you a better driver and gives you the right to suck someones ass if they dont move over for you
