I do. Come here and tell me all about it. I promise I won't tell you other people have it worse than you do.

Hey's I've got a German car, I get that icon too! They also have an exclaimation point light show up on the dash when your tire psi drops 1 pound. I thought the van was just happy. See, mine's got a flat tire icon, for when the psi drops like .000001 lb , so that part's easy. The problem is that with the run flat tires, none of the tires actually look flat, so you gotta measure each one with a gauge, and you still don't know if it's just contraction of air due to cold weather or if you've actually got a puncture. I learned this the hard way the first time when I took it to the dealer and all it ended up needed was air in a tire. They pointed and laughed. I plotted my revenge.

Meh. I had a loaner car for less than 24 hours. The car and icons were happy when I parked for the night. In the morning I got the your tires have low pressure icon and couldn't tell if it was all of them or what. Just drove the car back and made sure it had the slightly under 1/4 tank of gas I got it with.

Bob I hear that's why owners used to disable the sensors. I understand in the newer cars you can't do that.

The only time I have actually looked at my owner's manual was when the exclamation point light came on. The rest of the lights are pretty self explanatory, but I could not figure out this one. And when I checked the tire pressure because all the tires looked fine, the rear passenger side tire was at 39 psi instead of 40.

I had a hard enough time figuring out how to open the hood to put windshield washer fluid in. Disabling sensors is way beyond me.

Disabling sensors is way beyond me. It's easy. You just cut the blue wire. But don't cut the red one! You were wanting to cut the red one, weren't you? Well, don't.

When my low tire exclamation point sign came on it also gave me a reading on the control screen that "Front left tire is low"... which DH did when he drove it on the back roads to Vegas one time... I know he took the car over 100mph on that road. Good for him.

One of my cars was a 1988 Nissan Sentra. Just a base model. An icon lit up of a bulb, so I knew it meant a light was out. I checked every single light and they were all working. I was stumped, so I went back to the manual that I had read when I first got the car, which I immediately forgot most of as soon as I was finished back then. Turns out the bad bulb was in the back-up light in the rear window. The only one I did not check.

They should include this statement on the 1st page...if it has tires or testicles...it's gonna give you problems.

The best was with VW's, early 2000s and before. Seemed like they had one light. It was called the check engine light, and it meant that something was wrong with your car. It was then up to you to pay a mechanic hundreds of dollars to figure out what. Genius!

The other day my bf said - pop the hood and I had to pretend I knew exactly where it was while looking frantically for it. Then when it was opened, I walked out front and he started telling me what the parts were. Seriously??? I will never remember. Hope there isn't a pop quiz at some point.

Oh, you're right. Good point. Divorce him. Sweet! You'll represent me, right? Of course. Do you want to stay in the house indefinitely to get what's yours, or do you plan on leaving?

I have a list too, Mich.. but I need to know what size freezer you have first before I add you to it.
<grin> This time of year, my freezer's about the same size as your basic balcony.......say 12'x10'x as high as I can reach.
Wait a couple months and it'll be the size of the compartment above the fridge.
Why? Is there the need to hide a body?

Sometimes, we're looking for, um, a little extra cold storage. The balcony wouldn't work. You wouldnt' want people asking questions.........

::Why? Is there the need to hide a body? :: Well.. one can never be too prepared. I'm currently retaining swamp as my divorce attorney, but if she can't meet my demands, I may have to go with Plan B. And considering I stopped doing divorces, it looks like Plan B is the better alternative. Sorry Mr. M.

I should also note that I do have a Chilton's manual for my car -- I got it when a friend was helping me change the CV boots and we couldn't figure out how to get the axel off without breaking the seal. Chilton's and Haynes manuals are great resources. I've made a few auto repairs using such manuals.

The renting of the wood chipper could be traced back to the renter.

I would have gone with the "I have a SO and that's his job" reason too. Or "I know how to get to a mechanic, and that's REALLY their job".
