If you truly want to rub it in be sure to mention the phenomenal day we had today in gorgeous, sunny, warm Florida.

These were taken in Melrose, Ma. I live north of Melrose and we had 2 feet of snow last week. Then it snowed again........ then rained...... I can't wait to get home and see the damage to my house from ice dams. Oh, and it was in the low 70's here, POM. I know it was a bit warmer where you are.

Those are great pictures! Very beautiful. I love the snow. For a very short time. It looks so pristine and quiet there. I also love the way trees look covered in snow and how snow looks falling, especially at night. So, are you jealous you are not there to play in it?

It's been years since I've lived where it snows. When it rains after a snowfall does it all ice up and get slushy and dirty? That's how I remember it.

C:\Users\Valued Customer\Pictures\Sheila.jpg [/img]
That could be my deck! Well, less snow thank God. But otherwise that's it!

This is a banner year for snow in the North East. We had just got 19" of snow just before we left then another 24" last week to replace the melted snow from the first storm....LOL
When there is that much snow there is no sound just a soft quiet since snow absorbs sound. I miss it......a little.....LOL

Last year was a killer year for me with snow...this year, we've had just enough to be annoying (with school delays and cancellations). For whatever reason, the snow bands keep missing us this years...and I'm ok with that.
Shoveling falls under "dh's job", but he had the flu last week so I had to do it...damn I hate shoveling
ETA: We do have a snowblower but my braniac dh took it to the new house a few weeks ago, which we don't live in....there was no way I could get it home so I was stuck shoveling with the 12 year old.

While I appreciate that we haven't been getting the two-foot snow storms like we had all last winter, I'm growing very tired of the weekly nuisance snows. I hate cleaning off my car at 6 a.m.! All we've been getting is 1-3 inches of snow over night, which isn't enough for me to trudge into work late. We had ice and snow Monday night into Tuesday and now we're supposed to get 3" tonight into tomorrow morning. A total nuisance. I do love the big snows that keep me home from work. I can dig out at my own pace and enjoy the peace and quiet.

We have a garden tractor with a 54" snowblower attachment, and we have lights on the tractor so you can do it at night. I think it's kinda fun to snowblow. I don't really mind shoveling either, it's a good workout. I hate scraping the van, so I'm very happy we have a 3 stall garage, one for my van, one for the truck, and one for the tractor.

MissT and Meg you must be close to me, as this is what we have been seeing this year as well. Expecting three more inches tonight...sigh. It is just me and my 14 year old, so a shoveling we will go.
Oh, I get the extra added bonus of shoveling my parent's sidewalk and driveway too because I live the closest. Even with just three inches it takes me over and hour to do both.

I am so done with the snow. We're expecting another 6-9 inches during tomorrow's commute. I'm already trying to talk me out of begging the doctor for cortisone shots in my elbow and shoulder. I don't give an E how pretty it is at this point. I'm living on a freaking glacier!!!!!

I had frost once this year on my windshield. Does that count as shoveling

I HATE shoveling. As long as DH's home, it's his job. Unfortunately he's in Orlando this week, probably walking around Epcot Center as I write this. We had a couple of inches of snow earlier this week, so I had to shovel. Then, yesterday, I went down to Mom's. She's in a nursing home, but still owns a house. They also had snow, but apparently not enough for the plowing service to take care of. I don't want Mom's house to look unoccupied, so I shoveled the driveway.
I want spring to come! However, they're predicting 14 below tonight, plus wind. *Sigh*

Yes, MA. Not that far from where those photos were taken. It's funny, that picture could have been taken from my front porch, but the snow isn't deep enough!! The house across the street looks just like that.

I hate to shovel....that is one of the reasons I let DH stick around. I was thinking the same thing. And, as it is all his carp in the garage that keeps me from putting the car inside, he also scrapes it off and warms it up for me if I have to go out in the morning. I knew he was good for something!

Babycakes,Daphne and Malarky....We all seem to live in the same general area...lucky us. We are in Wilmington...couple towns away. We got 24 inches of snow dumped on us last week....more snow tomorrow. My little one is hoping for more time off.

I can afford a snowblower, just cheap I quess. So I shovel, enjoying the time outside, quiet and I solve all the worlds problems, nobody listens though
