Before you scream you are crazy, and run for the door, let me comment. I have no idea how old my Presto pressure cooker is but it still works great. I have one meal I make with it. Ham, green beans, onion, potatoes.
I have had peeps tell me I am nuts for using it as it could injure me in some way or blow up. I agree there are safety precautions to take; but I sure do like that recipe even better with turkey ham.

My presto pressure cooker was my grandmothers. It is so old that the instruction booklet give instructions for using it on a woodstove. It also suggests that people use them to make hot lunches for the schools so that the kids will not have to walk home everyday for lunch.
I use it regularly during the summer for canning. Just make sure to get the pressure gauge checked, our county extension office will do it for free, and replace the seal every so often.

I'm actually interested in learning to cook with one. A neighbor has one and she can whip up a meal while we share a glass of wine.
