This is a quick one..sounds bad but it's quick, and great. Can of tuna..I like the white make a white sauce, I use just milk and and flour, some butter or healthy spread, a few drops tobasco if you like a spark, pepper Le Seur Peas, small can{those are the little ones} put tuna, peas in white sauce , warm up, takes just a minute or two, Pour over toast, I like more pepper, salt for those who can use it, though tuna has in it a bit Viola...

My mom made this a lot when I was growing up, usually when my father wasn't around. My dad has a thing about complete meals and SOS didn't qualify.
Mom never put canned peas in it though. It was just white sauce and drained tuna with a shot of Tobasco. We tended to add more pepper and Tobasco after it was spread on toast.

Really suggest the Le Seur peas, ...My brother HATED it, and occasionally when I made it myself I would call him and tell him I was making one of his favorites and asked if he wanted to drive over, he would ask me what , all excited, I would tell him, he would Gag and hang up . Mom made something I hated, potatoes in Pot roast, would absorb the gravy but were to strong for me, I Hated that and when her back was turned he would move his plate over as I unloaded as fast as I could. Smile at Mom when she turned back, she knew but didn't say anything... Your right ..Yummy ..though when I mention it to friends the usually give me a look like i'm nuts. I never could get into SOS in the service but that's because it was usually served if we were going out on some early AM maneuvers and it was a quick meal to give us but at 2 AM my stomach just wanted coffee....Liked the idea of mashed potatoes though...

It doesn't just sound bad. It looks awful too, especially if you use the cheap tuna instead of albacore. I've never gotten anyone else to share it with me.
I'm convinced that it must be served on buttered toast. Maybe it's edible on dry toast, but who wants to take chances with something that already looks like library paste?

That sounds just like the paste they used to have to use to hang wallpaper to make sure it stuck to the walls back before wallpaper came with the adhesive already applied and pretty much ready to install.

I don't like tuna so it sounds horrible to me.
I do, however, like SOS! I buy the Stouffer's all the time...cream chipped beef for those that don't know! Served over dry toast!

We lived on creamed tuna and toast for two weeks in Michigan's UP once. We added catsup for flavor. Never leave the cans outside your cabin door. Attracts bears!

I used to fix it for my kids when my husband was away. (Is that you, Buddy? ) Needs the peas.
