Anyone got any information on companies that are involved in ENMs ( Engineered Nanotechnology Materials) ? I would be extremely interested in any pharmaceutical companies with research in the pipeline.
This is going to be the next great technology boom I believe.

Studying the potential health hazards of nanotechnology will require an additional $24 million a year to close the knowledge gap about the tiny particles used in a fast-growing array of consumer products, the National Research Council (NRC) said on Wednesday.
A new federal oversight agency is also required to integrate research by private business, universities and international, the non-profit research council said in a study sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Nanotechnology involves designing and manufacturing materials on the scale of one-billionth of a meter. It is used in areas ranging from stain-resistant clothing and cosmetics to food additives.
The sector's product sales were about $225 billion in 2009 and it is expected to expand rapidly in the next decade, said the study by the research council, a unit of the National Academy of Sciences.

I found two that are doing research in Nano Tech - IBM and Bell Labs.

Check out Harris Corporation and Teledyne. I agree it will be a boom. Imagine writing information on an electron.

Bell Labs - Not what I thought it was - basically a rat poison factory!
Harris Corporation - Went to their Web Site and no mention of Nanotechnology but they are involved in Intelligence work and Satellites so makes sense............... and they do pay a Dividend!
Teledyne - I couldn't find anything either but they have some many companies it would take a week to read about each one.....

The article I quoted above states 225 Billion in Nano Tech sales in 2009 yet I can find no evidence of products anywhere - Maybe in the Intelligence business?? Like to know what products they are talking about and what companies are producing them. How can you invest without knowing?

Thanks Jarhead,
It seems like the big players like IBM & Intel are already involved.
The ETF Powershares Lux Nanotech (PXN) looks interesting but has underperformed the market by over 50% over the last two years so I'll just sit back and watch for now.

Thanks A,
It's starting to look like this tech is more concentrated in large mainstream companies than with start ups unlike the Bio companies.
