do you lay back on the flat side then? I used to do squats that way, so I got a core workout from balancing the damn thing while working out my quads.

the bosu ball is awesome
I recomend putting it flat side down and sit on the rounded part and raise your legs to a V-like shape
work up to holding it for 1 minute

I low you blue BOSU ball even more than a red solo cup. Using it round side up for a few exercises increases my foot speed in tennis. I don't have good enough balance to stand the flat side up. When the step platforms are all taken up, I use it. I've also used it for bench presses and lunges.
An ab move I borrowed is cross your legs with your knees against the wall and the BOSU ball close to mid back then do sit ups. I don't know how effective those are but they are fun. The person I borrowed the exercise from would surf the web on her iPhone while doing them.
I am making that a goal to get that balance of flat side BOSU.
