Filed under "NSS" (no sh** Sherlock). It's the same with the Cuban community and many others who come here for the OPPORTUNITY and NOT the welfare state.

Yes, what is it about those who desert their homeland that makes the Republican Party attractive?

I'll tell you exactly what it is. They know freedom, real freedom, when they see it. And that's where they want to go...

Yes, what is it about those who desert their homeland that makes the Republican Party attractive? It's a legitimate question when you compare people who have come from other countries as to what they want...of course there are those who come from more socialist-type countries who want the US to be more like the countries they left. Kind of makes you wonder why they left in the first place.

Yes, what is it about those who desert their homeland that makes the Republican Party attractive? So fleeing an oppressive government in search of freedom and opportunity is now considered "desertion" in the mind of libs? I can only hope immigrants to the US begin to take notice of how they are really viewed by the left.

Not sure what they're afraid of... they must have socialism confused with communism. That said.. PI is the one who hit the nail on the head. Those from socialist democracies come here and wonder why dems are so far to the right

I can only hope immigrants to the US begin to take notice of how they are really viewed by the left. Did our Founding Fathers move west or did they stay and fight for freedom and opportunity? Both actually. This country was populated by people fleeing oppressive governments in search of freedom and opportunity in the new land. The people eventually fought back when the oppression wouldn't release it's grip.
