'Glen Beck' .. Ok, I watched him....

Up late last night, scrolling the channels , so many, top of the hour, came across "Glen Beck", Fox.
As I left on there was a sleight tremor to my place and i swear I hear a moan from the Hi-Def, just a sleight murmur but I swear it resembled, very low but distinct , "Oh nooooooooo"

Hey no one pushes me, even my 46" Hi def so stayed with the channel. poured a short one with a bit of water and settled in.

A few Obama diss , but acceptable , an he got into his thing of the evening, and it was on the "Peoples Republic", China, state visit by their president.
Didn't get his shtick that the man was coming in a Boeing 747, commercial, but he alone plus entourage, as if it is wrong coming in a expensive plane, mentioned our POTUS , goes there with two of them with USA Presidential, not commercial rented. Was wondering i he expect a 707 with duck tape on the fuselage holding it together..but on I go

Brought out some very interesting and in my opinion factual fact about the 'Peoples Republic"----------------------

Pictures of how many of those workers live, hi rise barrack type living conditions, bunk beds, three hi, 10 per room.{That's 30 strangers to a room. Barracks over their working space, lunch cafeterias, picture of hundred eating in a cafeteria, not was don't take to much rice and leave it , then fined, then a picture of 100's at the work place, doing bench work, pictures of 100's going up down stairs, guess no elevators, am sure there are bathing facilities, shots of clothes drying off the balconies, possible limited laundry, but you get the message.
You take these uneducated from the fields and country side, train them for their work , a week or so, no thinking or ideas, just to do a particular job, sleep, eat, work, back to sleep, eat , work..not a pretty picture as far as life experience, also many suicides from balconies, hiring 2000 social/psychological types to help, a suicide hot line and a sealing off of the balconies..guess they have problems, no s Dick Tracy,,

Showed picture of "Three Georges " Dam, hydro electric and pictures of many hoovers and Nuc power plants to equal that..to get that point that China needs to give work to these 800 million workers , this is how they are doing it and they are using their wealth, ours and others to by the natural resources of the world for them self's because they are definitely afraid of a uprising and losing their power, communist, the party, if they don't keep these 800 million happy, or if not happy, working, thus many freedoms on some issues compared to the past but absolutely NONE if there is any chance of group unrest threatening the party and advocating or even mentioning change.

as they consolidate, he also is suggesting that a t some time in the future, they will be coming for the payback of their assets they are holding and if not able to be satisfied then they will do what any creditor who is unfulfilled take over assets of the debtor..
Remember, we have a 14 trillion debt, Peoples Republic have a chunk of that, I think almost 3 trillion of it, give or take a trillion,billions, whatever..but Beck says he has a idea to solve this..

See, Dez-- Beck is okay. He gets flashy sometimes, but that is his personality and it brings in the ratings. He's an intelligent man that sometimes says things others don't want to talk about, and he often predicts things only to come back the next year and remind his viewers that he warned them what was going to happen last year. You might want to catch O'Reilly, also. He is different than Beck, and often gets slammed for not being mean enough to Dems and Obama. Heck, Hannity is good, too. Just take the whole bottle next time, Dez, and pull a triple header!!!

Dez-- I can catch Beck and O'Reilly early or late. Same shows repeated. I like that, because then I can switch to other channels and see what they are saying. CNN is my second choice-- MSNBC I flip past for laughs sometimes, rarely... during commercial breaks on FOX and CNN only.....

I'm not familiar with all the hosts on CNN. Heck, I don't know the names of half on FOX. I'll try to catch the Fareed person this weekend. I don't watch much TV unless something big is happening, and on Fridays when all the idiots drop their bombs for the weekend hoping no one will notice. WACO was my first big event addiction. Saw that one on CNN, I believe. Gabby was my last, and many in between. I prefer to read books in my down time so I don't go crazy. Although right now I am reading Atlas Shrugged and I have to turn on cable news or hit the boards to calm down!! LOL!!!!!

I can't remember if I ever did reaf "Atlas Shrugged", naturally have heard of it, will google for plot and see if it jogs the memory, from that far back in the day , memory sucks on books read, have read so many, big reader I am, love my library, no more buying books, way to expensive, as I look at my bookcase as I type, love to have the money back but do reread them.
Only one , classic I remember reading a lot, "billy Bud" seems every english class thought that one was worth ecploring and discussing, and discussing, and analizing, and discussing and analizing...enough alread..

No just a fact of what is reality in some areas of the country. How wide spread it is I have no clue. It could be just one particuler situation that Beck took , milked for all it was worth and made larger then it is or it could be very wide spread and there may be millions living this way. 'Fraid not. The reason I cited those sources [not UTube] is that they were interviews [from MSM] where Beck summarized his philosophy [his view of "The Solution"]. The alternative I suppose would be to read his book, but I didn't think you'd go for that .
I'll give you a clue: The solution must come from us, not the government. I still recommend those videos whether you agree with him or not.
FWIW: There is [was] a rule in China that any appartment house of eight stories or more had to have a elevator ~ so you see row after row of seven story apartment houses. It's less expensive. The apartments are preferable to the alternatives in most cases. There simply aren't enough houses for their population.

Beck brought up something interesting today. He was talking about PC talk, and how it stifles us and shuts down true communication. The example that he gave was that he has a handicapped child, and the use of the word "retard". Although he admitted he does not like the word, he wants to know the people that would use that word, so he can know who to avoid. Example-- if a neighbor makes a comment about "retards" he will then tell his kids to stay away from that person.
I thought about that, and see the truth. If we all tiptoe around on eggshells, how do we know who we want to avoid?? WE DON'T, so we just invent things, slam people, and put words in other people's mouths, without ever knowing how a person really feels, because none of us are allowed to act like bigots, racists, all the things we get accused of being. Which is, of course, what Coward/Piven, Alinsky, and that type are all about. Managing people in such a way as to create chaos and division towards an end result of controlling the masses to further their own agendas.

If its the real world, when you interact with some one who you realize you don't really want to interact with you can just leave, walk away, limit contact and in a neighbors situation as he said, shortly who and what they are about will be found out then he can make plans to avoid them except in the least obtusive way, they being neighbors.
In the cyber world...just being respectful and civil , goes a long way toward a good experience. There is also just ignoring , not letting on your there reading and watching,..till a bomb is laid and you can be long gonne before it's realized you were there. Any response, if not read really was no response.

As to your point, I would like to KNOW the people I am dealing with. Would save a lot of hassles up front. We have the freedom to associate with who we choose, vote for who we choose, all of that.
Example-- I knew a guy for about 6 years, saw him on an almost daily basis semi-socially. Finally I went out with him. I thought I knew him pretty well. Within a month or so it became clear to me that he HATES gay people, blacks, Mexicans, Jews. I dumped him, which created issues for me for awhile. Deal is-- I would NEVER have gone out with him if I had known up front what he felt about these things. To make it worse, he KNEW my thoughts on all of that, because I am not very PC.. bare minimum to keep from getting beat up, ya know. His PC public persona never revealed that part of him socially. He has every right to be that way, as I have every right to not hang out with someone so different from myself. Do you see what I am saying? The things we do NOT say could make a difference in our honest relationships with other people. Imagine if all our political candidates weren't PC while campaigning-- maybe then we would not have to watch those You Tube videos that make us cringe. LOL!!!
I'm just thinking. I try to do that every few days.

What exactly is wrong with "censoring what his children can hear? Why would you and why would you want your children to associate with those that you think may have negative influence on them? Do parents not have a right [or responsibility] to be sure that their children are not subjected to corrupting influences?
There are many who post on these boards who would do exactly the same thing if a neighbor flagrantly used "the N word" and/or other vile expressions and wouldn't think that censorship nor have any problem with avoiding those who use such expressions. What exactly is the virtue of tolerating boorishness?

You gotta give O'Reiley and the "No Spin Zone" a chance sometime.
He is really great, even when he is nasty.
I love some of his polls he does, and at the end of his program he always does an "audience response" segment where they e-mail him either with utmost approval or vehement dislike for him. You have to give him credit, he covers both sides of his audience, and usually responds to both sides of the messages. It is similar to the end of Sixty Minutes where they read their very dry audience letters about them.
His letters are much more opiated, and fun.

This is just stupid. No. Beck clearly stated that he wants "everyone" to have the freedom to speak their minds, so that when he comes across someone that "he" finds offensive, according to what he personally believes, he can protect his children by keeping them from that type of person.

His whole point was that by guaranteeing everyone's freedom of speech, to include all speech that we individually may find derogatory we get to protect our families knowing just what people really think.

If our government is allowed to control speech, I may not know that I am speaking with someone who is of either the Black Panther mentality, or the KKK. I too want to know that I might just be speaking with someone who is truly biased against disabled individuals, or a woman who is misanthropic (man hater). The whole point is that by leaving ALL speech free, only then do we truly know who we are actually dealing with, and more importantly, who our children could be dealing with.

And one thing you will note about Mr. Beck if you watch even occasionally. When he makes the points he wishes to raise, he states repeatedly- "Don't take my word for it. Do your own homework." He want's you to use your own brain and judge for yourself. A reasonable way to win people to his point of view, IMO.
