If anyone from other religions felt disenfranchised by the language, I want to say I am sorry.
Any other "religion" like Islam for instance? Don't be sorry Mr. Bentley.

Don't be sorry Mr. Bentley. why single out Islam? how about those whose religion is "none"? yes, Governor, your apology is accepted. let's see what you do and say from here, as to whether that was a sincere apology.

I have accepted Santa Claus as my lord and savior - and he delivers! My prayer success rate with Santa is quite high, as opposed to that other guy.

Not currently but I have known and worked with some over the years. I have nothing against them at all. I didn't even know one fellow at work was one until I went to his place and he told me. The problem I have is with the ones that do not assimilate and just the general numbers of them especially in England. It is not working out so well there and I do not want to see it happening here in Canada or the US for that matter.

Given the combination of ultra-sensitive left-wing thought police and ultra-PC freedom-hating liberals that seem to be spreading across the country like swine flu, it might be a good idea for all of us to just walk around with this phrase pasted on our foreheads...

I always get a good laugh with these types of hollow apologies. In this case, Governor Bentley knows he offended people of other religions, even those with whom he shares a common religion, with his remarks.
Governor Bentley should 'man up" and say "I am sorry I offended others with my remarks."

But the necessity of misspelling something would confuse people since there is no "l" in any of the words.

Was he invited to speak at the church as a private citizen or as the newly inaugurated governor of Alabama? Is it just a coincidence the speech at the church occurred shortly after his inauguration just a few hours earlier? I think not. Regardless, he used a very poor choice of words for one who reports to all the citizens of his state. Quite honestly, who cares? But if libs want to keep building this mountain, have at it. So noted. But, IMO, you all are reading way to much into this.

You criticize him for making the comments you don't like and then criticize him for apologizing for making those remarks you don't like.

He didn't apologize to anyone for goodness sake. What part of "if I offended anyone" don't you understand? He knows he offended people. He should admit it and move on.

So you punch your boss out because of a less than expected salary increase. And you then apologize and say "If I offended you...". I am sure your job is safe. LOL

Puh-leeze TN....you're splitting hairs. If the libs would get over being offended every time a republican drew a breath, we could move on to something important ...like sewer inspections in PA.

It's a simple fact. You didn't like the guy for what he said. You still don't like the guy after he apologized because of the words he used to aplogize. Who cares, if you live in Alabama don't vote for him.

Wow, a bunch of people who don't know squat about Christianity preaching against it, LOL. Sad actually. Thought the Left was a bit more open minded than this. Tolerant even.......especially actually. Care to share what you think everyone has wrong about Christianity?

Care to share what you think everyone has wrong about Christianity? On this forum? You're joking right? Anyone who is familiar with me and my posting history knows full well how I think in this matter. Suffice it to say You will never see me apologizing for "offending" anyone here or elsewhere for espousing a Christian worldview. If one is offended to the point of retaliation by the Christian doctrine then perhaps a bit of introspection is in order? Contrary to public opinion there are not "many truths"..........good luck in your search. And may God bless you in this matter. I do not intend to comment further on this topic.

Contrary to public opinion there are not "many truths"..........good luck in your search. And may God bless you in this matter. I do not intend to comment further on this topic. Seriously, this is how you respond to a simple question? You tell me to review your posting history & do my own research - cop out answer if there ever was one. I was not offended (or "offended") by your earlier post, but was just asking for more details. I'm not familiar with you or your posting history, so I have no idea as to your christian worldview. I know plenty about christianity, so I was simply curious what you seemed to think everyone has so wrong on this thread. A post that states we know squat about christianity implies some of the posters had statements that you could point to & indicate what posters had wrong. Since you completed sidestepped backing your statement with any actually argument, then I will just assume that you were spouting BS. And your intention to not comment further also indicates to me that you really don't know what you are talking about either. It is an interesting ploy, but without an actually argument or followup, then I can't give any credence to your statement that posters here know nothing about christianity.
