Mom and I had a bakeoff because she wouldn't let me use her fresh oysters ($12.99 lb) for my casserole. So she made her usual oyster stew, and I popped out of my bag a can of oysters tada! We opened the can and she declared them fishy. Smelled like the sea to me. My casserole was awesome-she pronounced my casserole "surrounding my canned oysters" delicious lol.
1 box Cheez-it Parmesan Garlic grackers (I only used 3/4 box.) 1 stick butter. 1 can (~20 small) oysters, drained-reserve 2-3 Tbsp. 1 pint half and half. 1 egg. Few dashes of Worcestershire. Good large grain black pepper to taste.
Crumble the crackers in your hands-don't leave any uncrumbled. The flavor and color of these crackers were key to how delicious this was.
Use the end of the butter stick to grease the casserole dish. Chop the rest of the butter stick into small chunks.
Mix the crackers butter and drained oysters and put in casserole dish-try to keep the oysters and butter chunks evenly distributed. You can get finicky with layers if you wish.
Blend all the liquids including the egg together and gently pour over the crackers oysters butter. My dish was 4inches by 8inches so this amount of liquid didn't cause any floating but did leave the surface wet.
Liberally apply the black pepper on top to taste-push it down into the casserole with edge of spoon.
450degree preheated oven 30minutes.
High fat high carbs high sodium but oh so good. Try for breakfast more eggs skim milk no butter drained sausage.

It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
