me too! That's my goal for 2012. My best time so far is 30:51 (and I NEVER thought I'd get there!) 10 years ago, my best 5k time was just over 35, so I'm pretty darn happy to be able to run so much faster now  |

Good for you MM! I have a goal of running a 5k this spring...it would be sooner, but since it is winter there are no 5k's locally....my 13 year old and I will run it together...little SOB will probably out run me again...lol

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I got in a 6 mile run outdoors yesterday and am definitely feeling it today... I'll do a couple of spin classes and one or two shorter runs on the treadmill before Sunday. I'm not worried about the distance... just curious if I can haul my butt across the finish line a little faster than I did the last time! LOL 6 miles??? holy shit! They'd be calling the ambulance for me...lol |

when I was filling out the paperwork for the pre-assessment for day surgery back in March, one of the questions was "what is the most strenous activity you can do". I put "run 5 miles". The girl taking the info said, "can you REALLY do that?". YES...even though back then I'm sure I didn't look like a person who could run 5 miles  and now I'm ALMOST 20 lbs lighter...next weigh in is in the morning. I have until the end of the year to drop the final 4.5 lbs (that's my goal...20 lbs by the end of the year) |
