so I took a week off from the gym (I been training hard for 3 and a half months regularly (4 days a week lifting pretty hard))..... I took the week off on purpose 'cause stuff I read said it was good to take a break once in a while and after my week off today's work out was not so good I thought I would be well rested and able to pick up my weights at the same point where I was, but doesn't look like it how long will it take to make up for my week off? (and was it a good idea to take a week off?)

Taking a week off is a good thing, it gives your muscles a chance to grow. I do it every four to five weeks. You should be back to your old self within a day or two.
