My vote is no, and this is coming from a Jags fan. They've had a great QB who covered up a mediocre defense at best, a poor running game, and horrible special teams over the years.

Question #2: If they get Luck, will they start him as a rookie?

No, we don't walk away. But when we're holding on to something precious, we run.

I also vote no. I agree with your comments though. I also think the team's lost hope. I think the offense had slight amounts of hope the first couple games and then gave up and the defense followed a few games later.
Not if Manning's back. I haven't been paying much attention to him though so I don't know if this is/was career ending or not.

By the way, to answer the OP, I don't think any player try to lose. I think that collectively they have too much pride for that.
But I do think that owners, front office and maybe even coaches may try to lose.

Not sure they will have a choice... What does that mean? I'm not sure they are going to really have other options...I'm not totally convinced that Manning will be back. He might actually enjoy getting to spend time with his son now and hope to be able to do things with him in the future, he is most likely financially secure, and it was a pretty serious set of surgeries he went through....

Maybe we should be asking if Caldwell will be there next year too. My opinion, usually by now you at least hear rumors of a head coach being on the hot seat...not sure I've really heard much about Caldwell.

I wonder if the Colts are going to go after Del Rio for DC since firing Coyer...

I don't think they are trying to lose. I think Manning's surgeries have revealed what people have said for years about Indy. They had no Plan B if something were to happen to Peyton. He definitely deserved those MVP trophies. I'm sure Luck would prefer to sit behind Manning for a year or two. He and his family don't need big bucks from starting right away.

He definitely deserved those MVP trophies. ICAM. IMO, if Peyton can get back he will. He has been at every game, first in the booth and later on the sidelines. He wants to play, and he wants to play for the Colts. Now, if they decide to go for Luck and trade Peyton I see him retiring. I have serious doubts that he would be happy moving to another organization, and he is smart enough to know that. Had the lockout been avoided, Peyton would have been able to see team docs like he wanted to and a lot of this would have occurred in the off season. [quoteI'm sure Luck would prefer to sit behind Manning for a year or two.
